What happens when someone goes to prison with braces on?

They just have to deal with it for like 10 years?

Is the prision dentist also a orthodontist?

All inmates are given many types of evaluations upon entering the system. So with braces on, the correctional dentist will see them, probably confer with the dentist on the outside. Treatment will go accordingly to what is needed and the state's policy for such. The inmate may have to be transported as needed to another correctional facility to see the appropriate professional.

It will depend, first they will be in jail while they go to trial and could be in jail for months. With little medical care.

next depends on thier security level, the braces could be considered a security issue at some levels of security

I doubt at high max or super max they would be allowed to keep them.

Also braces are considered an electrive medical procdure and the person or his family may be expected to continue to pay the cost.

Many prisons have dentits that do work in them, but it is not going to be seen when ever they want,

So it is possible they will not get to keep them dependng on the funding for each prison ( by state, prison rules and more)

no they have dentists in prison, remember in desperate housewives when suzanne was dating a dentist and he recognized her plumber boyfriend from when he worked on his teeth in prison??

those freaking convicts probably have a better health & dental plan than mine.

if there's no orthodontist maybe the dentist will just remove the braces before the procedure is complete.
