If you don't know what it is why don't you go see the movie called by the same name. Global warming is a moral issue, where do you stand on it. Will another global crisis make any difference? How does one respond to said crisis in a healthy way?

I am not a person to take on a cause. I believe in finding a healthy way to live. I think there is an atmosphere in North America that may cause some to think in exteme ways like "chicken little". I think global warming is serious. I am doing all I can do in a healthy way. But my belief is unimportant at the moment. I want to discover how others feel and perhaps improve on my on way of doing things.

As opposed to the convenient truth, I guess the inconvenient truth would hinge on the fact that if global warming is being caused by mankind, because of the luxuries we have in this world then to give up using them would be an inconvenience that alot of people would not want. The truth being that global warming is happening because of mankinds burning of fossil fuels, creating gases that go into the atmosphere and thereby destroy the protective ozone layer. It will be inconvenient to live in a world without all the luxuries that we enjoy today. I believe we have to start to get back to the old ways and if it means putting up with cold winters and hot summers then so be it.

I have not seen it yet. But I don't understand why anyone would fight against the concept of global warming as if they are in favor of it. Is it because they are Republicans and won't accept the issue because it is coming from Al Gore?
Christian Evangelicals are starting to get behind the concept of global warming. How could anyone look at the statistics regarding weather and the trend towards warmth and not be concerned?
Let's put aside name calling andd partisan politics and explore the issue.
Remeber, for years and years the cigarette companies had people convinced there was nothing unhealthy about smoking.
Ask yourself which industries are behind the fight against the concept of global warming. I think you'll find it's companies that sell fossil fuels and coal.

I am so looking forward to seeing the movie--it isn't showing in my rural area. I'll buy it on DVD when it comes out to share with my class. I have seen the book. I thought it was great. I did a research paper a few years ago on the Kyoto Protocol and the Bush Administration which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about the global warming issue. I believe we will be forced, sooner or later, to have to do something about global warming. If we wait until later, it will be so much worse. I am a firm believer in everyone doing at least something--even if it is something small. Small changes implemented by a lot of people will help to make a big difference. In the past couple of years I have began to recycle, changed my light bulbs for the low carbon emitting fluorescent bulbs, turn my thermostat down by a couple degrees in the winter and I am planning on trading in my '99 Blazer in for a Prius. AND I am educating my students about ways they can encourage their families to take up this cause--I am really hoping for a sort of butterfly effect to take hold.

Global warming caused by pumping of gases into the atmosphere by advanced and developing nations can be minimised by following norms stipulating to be followed everywhere. Not that law does not exist, it is more by violation that we are in the present state.
Destruction of Forests was done more for the use of timber for household and industrial applications and pulp for various uses. The awareness in this direction is better than the first one. Many developing countries are going ahead with afforestation programmes. Rainfall levels have improved from the earlier detoriaration. But we find water storage is not adequate to use this source of energy properly.
More steps can be taken on the front of Waste disposals and use of non-conventional energy resources, wind turbines but will take more time.

The Earth has been warming and cooling for 4 billion years. The ice ages were the cooling periods and between them were warming periods. These are natural cycles of the planet. We can't stop this, change it, or even slow it down. This all occured before the tech came along. It's going to happen again. There's not a damn thing we can do about it!
