I'm not sure about your beliefs now, but all I know is what I believe and that should be the same with you. I grew up Baptist and I was so unsure about my faith, that I went into Wicca but to be honest between me and the people on here, I really don't believe in Wicca. I was raised by Baptists parents and everything they told me, I believed it but that didn't mean I didn't question it. I was going through the worst experience of my life that I actually believed in the teachings of Anton Lavey (founder of the Church of Satan) and followed the philosophy of human nature--which is evil. I'm not saying that you should believe in God or that Satanists are evil because I am an ex-Satanist and clearly, I don't believe I'm an evil person but I DO believe I was misguided. I also greatly agree with the above answer (Left-Handed Lady) where she said that she found it harder not to believe in God. I know there is thousands (and I'm not exaggerating) of theories that try to disprove God's existence but the things that they say are just not cutting it for me. I think that their theories are just too impossible because how in the world did we evolve from single celled organisms to intelligent, free-thinking beings? Where did the single cells come from? Why is their life on Earth when not anywhere else? Etc, etc. No one and I mean NO ONE can answer those questions, and if we did truly evolve, how would we know of our origins? Atheist are trying to disprove God everyday but all they're doing is providing me more proof of how much God really exists.

First, of all, do not worry. There are many like you. About half of the people posting here will tell you that you HAVE to believe in God or else you will go to Hell, and the other half will say DON'T believe in God. I say, do whatever you think is best. People get all worried about whether or not they should "fake believe" to get into Heaven. God is not going to condemn you for being a good person and using your free will. Don't be ridiculous. Plus, according to the Bible, you theoretically can live your whole life not believing as long as you eventually believe and ask for forgiveness before death. You have time. Take any advice you get here with a grain of salt, including mine of course. Most posts here are going to be radically-for belief or radically-against it. The Bible is confusing and I do not believe it is true, or at least completely so. You can have beliefs, even in God, without religion, and especially without the silly traditions, cults, and power-hungry Vatican, who edited and translated the Bible to its own liking anyway. I know you are confused, but so is everyone. Even someone so for-belief such as Pat Robertson is confused. You cannot be not-confused because there is no evidence for or against these theories, so noone really knows. At least noone KNOWS that they have found the right answer when they do. It is logical to suggest that SOMEONE got it right, but they don't KNOW for sure that they did and neither does anyone else. If someone tells you that they DEFINITELY know what happens after death and about God, they are not telling the truth, since you CAN'T know as a human being, and they are lying to themselves. Good luck! Do what is comfortable to you and don't listen to anyone else.

Maybe there isn't a God who really knows? Is the Bible real or just a fable? No one can really prove it either way.. plus Christianity is only one faith in the world and who is to say its the right faith for you? Maybe its time to go search out other faiths to see if one suits you.
I went to Catholic school but I disagreed with lots of the preachings and eventually I turned away from Christianity and have not been a Christian for about 8 years now. To be honest I am much more spiritual as a non-Christian. I am also a better person since I left that religion behind, I am most certainly happier.
You have to find out which religion is right for you, perhaps its Buddhism, or Kabbalah or Paganism or even Wiccian... Read about other beliefs and perhaps one religion will have similar view points as your own..

I think we can all say that at some point we question God and the Bible, because that is the "human" side of us. However, in your quest for knowledge in God's Word, pray sincerely for understanding and God will give it to you. Do not depend solely on the thoughts of others, whether it is a preacher, family member, or friend. But earnestly seek God and you will find all you need...

I'm a Christian and I question whether to believe in God or not all the time. I think it's natural. I personally find it harder NOT to believe in him. He has guided my life and shown me a lot of mercy. A lot of Christians debate whether the Bible is completely factual. Just because every story doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean God doesn't exist. To me, confused=normal. Just live your life as a kind human being. You will find God.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I could never see a lot of what was in the bible as being logical either. Then something happened that made me realize that it wasn’t God that I did not believe in, it was all of the silly thing that I had been told about God that didn’t make sense. This is how it happened.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

Seek and ye shall find!
I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't believe. In the end that decision is made by you.
But as I told our older children when they reached young adulthood and began to question the belief systems we'd brought them up in.... "Read, ask questions, observe and think."
Open yourself up to possibilities. Try hard not to look into things with preconceived negative judgements. Be wary of those who just preach and do not listen... believers AND nonbelievers.
One important thing to remember is that how we see/understand things changes too. I have stayed within the belief system of my childhood but I have an understanding that has changed (and changed me) through the years.
My best to you
Bill

If there is only one thing that you should believe in then its God. Confusion, questions and doubt are there to distract you from the truth. And God gave you the freedom to choose.
I've allowed God to be in my life and he has helped me in more ways than I can imagine. You only have to accept him as God and pray for guidance and help.

No. Do not believe the **** that is handed by the human beings from the pulpits / mosques and preachings .
He is a divine entity and he never said anything to follow jesus or mohammed though they claimed themselves to be God's messengers !!! The only divinity that you should inculcate is compassionate attitude towards all living beings and love for all irrespective of their caste , colour creed or sex , and have heart full of blessing .........as you sow so shall you reap . Never forget that ...
