The political entity we call Israel did not exist between the late Roman Empire until the 20th century. In between, "Palestinians" (basically peaceful goat-herding Arabic peoples) lived on the land that is now Israel for the greater part of 2000 years. Zionists started demanding that a Jewish nation be set up in the Middle East during the 1800s. Zionism was essentially a secular, political movement that was originally objected to by religious Jews, both Orthodox and Reform alike. After the Holocaust, most of these religious Jews put their religious objections aside and with the help of Europe and the USA, the Arabs were run off of their land and Jews were imported from Europe, the USA and other remote locations to take it over. Since then, those "Palestinians" who for almost 2000 years inhabited the land now controlled by Israel have been homeless and under siege by the Israeli government with the sponsorship of the USA. That basically sums up a good portion of why the Arab world hates the Israeli State and the USA.

if we remember, Israel in 1982 took over southern Lebanon amidst bitter conflicts with their Arab neighbors. Hezbollah was then instituted to drive the Israelis out of Lebanon and also to liquidate the state of Israel permanently. you see, the Arabs see Israel as an enemy because they now occupied what was then Palestine. It's a racial, cultural war which existed between the Arabs and the Jews for thousands of years.

Well lets see probally because they believe that they own everything in the area and that they have been screwed by the Isrealis and everybody else. This is not the forum to teach you the politics of the middle east it's very complicated and you need to have both view points to make a decision. reaserch it for yourself and come to your own conclusions.
Having said that in the attemp to be fair I would add that they know that they can't take on the military so they have resorted to terrorist tactics and the Isreali's haven't caved there either, they just retaliate, which sends the message that if you mess with me I'm gonna mess with you and your friends and everybodys family.
So therre it is in a nutshell. but reserch it and come to your ow conclusions.

Because some of religions holiest monuments/landmarks are in this region and (forgive the generalization) people of religious extremity believe that theirs is the supreme and only religion so their should be no other options. In the end it is all about who's God is the right God.
