You could call that proof. Using your logic, I can prove that the Christian GOD is a DOG. God is dog spelled backwards, god has three letters and dog has three letters, both have a love for mankind, we use seeing eye-dogs to help the blind find their way just like god helps the blind find their way to heaven.

That's not proof, it's reading something into what you want to read into something.

The hanzi for mouth also means open or opening in both the noun and verb sense. In order to get characters to collectively mean eight people, you'd have to use the character for people, not the character for mouth. Not to mention, the 137th radical means boat all by itself. You can add on the eight over mouth to the right of the radical to also mean boat or vessel, but together they don't mean boat.

declaring that some thing is attainable does no longer recommend that it truly is a certainty, or that it truly is sensible to undertake the placement. If I suggested it truly is attainable that there is an ice cream production facility on Jupiter, does that make it intellectually defensible or a position properly worth adopting in trouble-free terms because it truly is a probability? in no way. only claiming a probability in preserving with no longer some thing more effective than it being a attainable determination, no rely how distant, isn't sufficient grounds for atheists to declare viability of their atheism. they ought to arise with more effective than the "there is not any information for God." certainty. otherwise, there fairly must be an ice cream production facility on Jupiter, and the atheist ought to step up on the band wagon and start up protecting the placement that Jupiterian ice cream exists. See the position i go, right here?

First of all, "8" + "mouth" = "boat" is awfully vague. It could mean anything. Also, why would it prove the existence of a Christian god? That's an Old Testament story. Jesus didn't exist yet, and the main thing that separates Christians from Jews is the belief in Jesus. So, if it was, in fact, proof of any kind of god, it would be the Jewish god, not the Christian god.

I believe this is more myth than anything else. The interpretation of the character is wrong, refer to: http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CG/CG101.html Of course, people will believe what they want, whether it is based on facts or not!

I'm curious though, why would a Christian go seeking proof of their religious beliefs in Chinese characters? If so, why not follow Chinese religions then?

Like, I just heard on the History Channel that Ronald Reagan could be the Anti-Christ because all three of his names add up to 6. I guess if he comes back from the dead we'll KNOW!

A needle and an hay stack. There's no proof what so ever to support your theory and I'm not talking about Chinese mythology, though i respect mythology and religions of all kind.

No. If you're that interested in Chinese characters, why don't you study the language and it's calligraphy, and stop grasping at straws.
