my sone watches cartoons wile I am dooing this and I find that it is a relitivly good way to be with him we can still talk and I watch cartoon with him while I am typing to all of you does any one ell do this

I personally think it's fine... kids don't need to be smothered 24/7. Letting him be occupied by his cartoons and toys/games sometimes will help develop his creativity, imagination and independence rather than having his entertainment constantly provided to him.

Kids are a big responsibilty and they need total attention not just part time attention......that means when you spend quality time with your son you need to turn off the computer and concentrate on strictly him and nothing else.
How can you honestly say you can tune into everything he is saying or trying to say to you if you are on the computer typing to other people at the same time? There no way he is getting the complete attention a child craves from his parents.
Turn your computer off and snuggle with him on the couch when you watch cartoons or take him outside to play or have a day where just the two of you go somewhere special....after all your child is worth the extra effort you can you give to be the best parent you can be.

Oh, ignore those judgmental freaks who claim to love God but can't seem to find it in their heart to behave properly!
What you are doing is fine. It's not as if you are leaving your son alone for hours while you paint the town red! If you and your son enjoy the time you spend together, that's all that matters.
Cartoons are a great way to bond. It's good for you to share an interest in your son's viewing. A couple of decades ago, all grown-ups had nothing to do with them at all. Now grown-ups watch them and play video games. Totally cool!

My son is watching cartoons and I am typing at least 35% of the time. It's ok because they are quiet and you can do what you need to in the meantime.

I am actually listening to a TV show right now. My daughter and I often watch TV and type on the computer together (separate computers). Whenever we see something silly or funny, we share it.

my kids are behind me doing kid things. When it is time to play with the kids or watch movies we go outside away from the computer or turn it off to watch movies!

actually, I just have my girls sit in a chair next to me while I am at the computer, and let them watch video clips on youtube in a separate window while I am doing this.......

I don't have kids....but I sit and type to all of you while my bf is watching his tv shows....he's perfect....but almost like a kid....lol
