Girls, do you feel different when you dress well and when you dress down? Do you also see how people's reactions change when you go out dressed well and dressed down?

I have 110% more confidence when I know I look acceptable. Hence why I never wore sweats to school......

When I dress up I feel more pretty and people comment on how nice I look even get flattering looks from the guys.
And when I dress down , I really feel that I am just part of the everyday crowd and usually not as noticed.

"It's not the clothes that make the woman, it's the woman that makes the clothes!"

This cliche is something I truly believe in. I can feel great no matter what I dress in because I am not just comfortable in my clothes, I'm comfortable in my skin. For me, I get noticed when I dress up, but I also get noticed when I dress down. It's just that the variations of people that notice me differ. When I'm the business woman, I get noticed by business people (mostly men). But when I'm the girl from the block, I get noticed by people from the block.

Best Wishes!

Not really. Sometimes I'm in a much better mood in my comfies, so I can be more approachable then. Then if I'm dressed up but my nylons are too tight or I get a run or my shoes hurt, I'm really not having a good time, and people sense that, too.

But if I'm in my comfies and miserable sick, then obviously no one wants to be near me. Or if I'm at a formal wedding, it's such a happy time!!

So really, people's reactions depend mainly on how friendly I am that day, and not on how I dress or look.

I feel SO good about myself when I dress well. I like my reactions too cuz people actually treat me w/respect! If i'm dressed down, I'm not noticed as much.

Totally.

I think the majore part of it is when I am dressed up I feel better about myself and people notice THAT, not exactly what I am wearing.

i love to dress up even if its going to the grocery store. i think that people do think different of u when u dress down when u go out cause i guess that its sorta like they think "well she takes pride in her self and she must be a very upkept woman" as oppossed to " goodness she just goes out in public looking a hot mess and dont even care!! she must have no esteem at all!" that is just my personal opinion.:)

I always try to look my best....it gives me a feeling of confidence...I don't even know how to dress down...I guess that would be my painting cloths, and I'd never be seen in public in those rags!!
