I have 2 questions. 1: Are there any legal issues i need to be aware of? 2: WHat do you guys think about the morality of this... I always thought of it as wrong but I met this girl and I really like her. Am I doing something wrong if I date her?

Don't listen... it's not that wrong. It's only 4yrs difference and she's not twelve. My parents were married at those exact ages!
However, my advice would still be to perhaps wait until her 18th birthday and build a friendship until then You'll have a much better relationship as a result. Just don't mess her about - girls are still very impressionable at that age. You seem genuine enough though.

In California, you can't penetrate a 17 year old (unless you are 17 also, or married to her).

Yes ther are legal if you have sex that is stachitory RAPE if you can wait until she is 18.
