Well, no of course not. It is hard to argue the fact that religion is such a large part of everything. Whether or not you believe in a religion, it is hard to deny that billions of people do. (I don't). However, this is such an important subject to discuss: the atheists think that religious people are completely misguided and brainwashed, while the religious people think they are fulfilling God's wishes and saving souls by posting here. Plus, it's great discussion!! It is easy to see why people who feel strongly one way or the other are always asking and answering. What a great way to become more open-minded or even solidify your beliefs in one area. But I agree. Religion isn't everything, but my point is, some people think that it is! Good question.

Why should the subject of religion not have equal time ? There are a lot of other subjects that people discuss that are vile and disgusting! There are MANY other things some people discuss that are harmful to them and others. Never heard of anyone being negatively affected by asking questions about religion. I can't think of ANY subject that everyone agrees and thinks the same about. Why should religion be any different and have many points of view.

It is a sad matter that humans are basically a very lazy creature, and is also easily frightened. To ask questions is a necessity if one to develop character and intelligence, but for the general population it is far easier to 'go along', than to think for ones self. Questions outside of a churches paradigm are discouraged by most religious leaders. Why? Because most do not have intelligent answers that still the water of a doubtful mind. For this reason, many of the faithful are leaving mainstream religion to seek for answers that are not based on worn out doctrines that kept believers in line. So, continue to grow with your questions, as it is said: "Ask, and you SHALL receive."

Some people enjoy religions and some are fascinated by them. This is the religious section of Yahoo Q & A. I'm sorry if you have to put up with it outside of this site.
Maybe you could start your own site about canned tuna brands?

Don't you ever wonder why there's so much war fought in the name of religion. Just look how many people here almost ready to jump on the opportunity to prove there beliefs are the right way or only way.

No apology needed so some distance as i'm in contact. even as i do not talk for all and sundry, except myself, i imagine maximum atheists are rational thinkers who does no longer be indignant by using some thing a non secular man or woman has to assert. Amused perchance yet no longer indignant. perfect Regards

Religion is a good place to ask questions, because you get plenty of answers, none of them very good, but they are answers. In other sections, there are fewer fans and few answers.
