If isreal invades lebanon then we will have a BETTER STRONGER ally in the east. An ally that will be able to take MORE burden from us (USA) and HELP control the east.
Im saying that with an Isreali state WITH a democratic Iraq in the same region sending a positive vibe to the rest of the region there will be a safer world we live in. A safer place from insane muslims (not the peacful 1's that already live with us the suicidal 1's)
and if Anyone says im being a sectict against muslims im NOT.
the religion of Islam is a GREAT morale life it is a GREAT religion for the world of today. Yes it has some fanatics that kill us BUT they r a great religion still. SO with a stronger Isreal there will be LESS religious Fanatics blowing up the world.

Hezbollah never defeated anybody, then or now. For starters.

Anyway, it is not Israel's goal and it is not in their interests to "control the east." It is Israel's goal, and very much in their interests, to survive, and to defeat aggressors who would destroy them.

It is not in our interest to run round the world beating people up to control them or to impose a government upon them, either.

Islamist are intractable fanatics seeking to impose their religious system upon even the countries where Islam is the major religion. Their latest excuse is that they are against the US, which is in addition to their pre-existing excuse that they are against Israel, which is in addition to their excuse that they want a religion based government throughout the world.

Being against the US gets them support, being against Israel gets them support. But being against the governments of the countries that harbor them definitely doesn't get them support, and they would have a hard time indeed if they started in with their basic aim, to estabish new religious governments in the Arab world.

That's why it is not just Hezbollah, Hamas, el Qaida, but the governments of the states that tolerate them. They tolerate them because they attack the countries they don't like either.

Invasions and bombings are not the solution to this and other crises affecting the world, particularly those in the Middle East. In fact, invasions and attacks on other countries only appear to deepen hatred among fanatical Muslims, and even breed more hatred among those that would otherwise not be fanatics. After all, I am sure I would be angered by another country's army invading mine and dropping a bomb that kills my entire family and wounds me even though we had never done anything against that country or any of its people. Why should ordinary civilians have to suffer for the despicable actions of terrorists? Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't terrorism worsened since September 11th? Since the "War Against Terror"? It seems to me that attacks have become more widespread (Madrid, London, Bali), despite the aim of this war being to "make the world a safer place" as you propose Israel will be doing by invading Lebanon. Believe me, each side is equally convinced it is right, whether it be Muslim or Christian. That is what makes religious fanaticism a very dangerous threat to world peace. The only effect an Israeli invasion will have in Lebanon will be to encourage angry young men to join terrorist groups like Hezbollah to fight the evil “Christians” that killed their families and destroyed their livelihoods for no apparent reason. After all, their families are gone. What do they have to lose? They can at least gain some consolation in vengeance. They feel the need to defend themselves particularly when powerful nations can just decide to attack countries based on questionable, false evidence without regarding the advice of the international community or the consequences of such attacks, or even considering the humanitarian effects of such attacks as is the case with the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon. So in actual fact, a stronger Israel will be dangerous thing for the world, and will definitely result in a proliferation of the “religious fanatics blowing up the world” that you suggest it would lessen. Many members of terrorist groups weren’t always so. Perhaps if they saw more dialogue… more people asking “why” rather than bombing first and asking questions later, they would not have been lured into terrorism. It is rather ironic that you choose to regard others as fanatical when your comments certainly reek of fanaticism.

I don't think the US should want Israel to become stronger. You are talking control here and about a people who lust after power and control. I think their need for land and strength will not stop even if they divide and conqure Lebanon. I wonder who is it will they go after next. Thanks to the Isralies now how many bodies does it take to keep our gas tanks filled today? Don't let the media brainwash you into believing anything differant. It's all about the control of money and power. Also to answer your question: When it comes to categorizing people such as you have, I see the Israelis the same as European boat people that came to Americas killing, stealing, raping, infesting and corrupting the land all in the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost. Why bother mentioning religion and wasting your breath, when it was Jesus himself that said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"? Look at the words you capitalized in your question: BETTER, STRONGER, MORE, USA, HELP, NOT, GREAT, BUT, SO, LESS, maybe you answered your own question. Masalam

Why would Israel invade Lebanon, because Lebanon captured 2 of their people? Israel has captured thousands of Palestinians, or do we just ignore that for some reason, and not only that Israel shows us what type of people they are when they attack Airports, highways, bridges and hospitals, so be fair, you also say that Islam is a great morale life and is a great religion and there are peaceful Muslims, so how could you call a suicide bomber a Muslim -Islam does not ask people to do these inhumane acts-

Some positive vibe Democratic Iraq is sending. An average of one hundred people killed a day. And then if we allow Israel to go on with what it's doing in terms of destruction and killings in Lebanon, you can bet that will solidify that positive vibe about the US.

"The state.... must see the sword as the main if not the only, instrument with which to keep its morale high and to retain its moral tension. Toward this end it may, no it MUST invent dangers, and to do this it must adopt the method of provocation and revenge.... And above all, let us hope for a new war with the Arab countries so that we may finally get rid of our troubles and acquire our space." ~ Moshe Sharett, who was Israeli's first Foreign Minister from 1948-1956, and Prime Minister from 1954-1956.

It is not proper for Israel to invade Lebanon because it is against International Law. Israel should only annihilate the Hezbollah guerillas and leave Lebanon.
