Probably originated in Spain somewhere. The best I could search was those that immigrated to Spainish territory in the New World mostly Mexico. There are several municipalities in Spain that has Cedillo in their name. Check Wikipedia for that. I found 2 other websites that may or may not help. Sorry I do not have more.
