No... doesnt sound like a narcotic drug (LSD, Ecstasy). LSD are usually plain pills and ecstasy have symbols or signs printed on them. Its best to get it checked out at the pharmacy

Pills (drugs) legal, prescribed, over the counter or otherwise (illegal) all have dangerous side effects (Yes even aspirin and tylenol). If he is a minor taking any drugs (sounds like it's a medical drug) you should be aware of it. Along with the benefits, risks, and alteratives.
Use a physicians desk reference to confirm the type of drug your son has. They are available at all major bookstores, and not limited to health care professionals. Browse through the PDA.

go to http://search.drugs.com leave all the boxes blank except the color and look at the pills that come up and compare, if not succesfull, take to phamacyst or call poison control
it sounds to me from experience that you have extended release morphine (30=mg)
if your son is not on pain killers he is illegally taking them and can be put in jail for it, better talk to him now

It's probably a pain killer. It can't be an antibiotic, nor a drug pill.

The best way to identify it is to take it to your pharmacist; or you can also ask your son.
There are online services that may help. Here is the link to one.
