If you go to Bangkok go into the souvenit gift shop at the Royal Palace and get a mug or T-shirt with a picture of the Palace or the Emerald Bhuda on it. I got a T-shirt 10 years ago with the palace wrapped around it and its still my favorite. It is tricky to get too creative as you can not transport any religious artifacts out of the country and the same with agriculture. They have an interesting looking fruit similar to shape as a pinapple called a "Dorian" or something like that which would be a good souvenir but they wont let you take fruit out either, at least not in my experience. Hope you have lots of fun. I enjoyed Changmai up north too but I hear Phuket has the best beaches.

Where are you from? Bring something from your country, Thais like to know more about other countries. Also being a guy, electronics will be good to keep him happy.

Have a nice trip.
