My hubby & I want to move cross counttry, but we are afraid of taking our young children away from their family and support system. Every time we think its a go, we feel guilty. Our families are protesting it. Would it be wrong if it would make us happy?

ur the family u, ur hubby and ur kids
u cant always look on wat the grandparetns (ur parents) always have to say

No its the right thing if it's what you and your husband want to do....The extended family is being selfish and thinking of themselves... the children Will probably benefit from the change....
My parents moved us around quite a bit from '72 thru '79...
I've seen most of the US, lived on the new England coast, the Berkshires, the Rockies, the sierra Nevada's at Tahoe, the desert north of Reno, northern Vermont, new Hampshire at Lincoln on the kangamangus highway, and sacramento cali. I've settled in rockport Masachusetts, were my mothers family has always been......
the moving around has it's problem...but i got to know alot of different people and families,...
Kids will make friends just about anywhere, Do what makes you happy if it's for the better..... GOOD LUCK!!! Enjoy the adventure...!

There is not an easy way to answer this, because extended family is important. Especially if the kids are close to their grandparents. Is this a move for financial reasons? Better job, being able to afford living on one income, etc? If it's more about just wanting to live in a different place, I would have to go with staying near family.

U & your hubby are the ones makeing the move not your familys.Yes ther will be a lot of guilt but it will go away. The children will make new friends (befor you probaly).You will have a new adventure with new jobsw, life style. The familys can call , e-mail, or viset

I think you guys should do what makes you happy and if the children are young even better go ahead and move its ur lives not thier do whats going to make ur family happy your husband and kids do the right thing if anything you can always make visits phone calls

Family can be there when you come for a visit, but, I'd say go, and do what is right for you. You will find a new support system where you move to. There is church, youth centers all over. Good luck!

no you have your own life to live and its what makes you happy and what you can live with. just tell them they will have somewhere to visit on vacation.
