Get accessories to go with her Ipod Nano, and a gift certificate so she can download more songs on it. Take her somewhere fun with it, or put it in a savings bond for her to save for college.....

A book of etiquette. I realize this sounds really old fashioned - however, regardless of the year we are living in or changes in culture - young people still worry about how to "do things right" and still are afraid to ask.

A good book of etiquette will teach them (in the privacy of their bedroom) many things they would never dream of asking. You will save her from many awkward moments over the years.

My grandmother gave me such a book - and I can only say "Thanks Grandma!" to this day for such a thoughtful gift.

You can take her to get an outfit or buy her a purse. She might also like jewerly. Or if you dont want to spend a lot of money, just buy her things for her hair, perfume lotion, or body spray.

Complement your IPod present with a card that allows her to download music. You can spend as much or as little as you want.

What is her favorite store? If you dote on your niece that much--and I think that's awesome--give her a hefty gift card to her favorite store and let her get what she wants.
