Cod liver oil is always a good additive.
Check out some of our UK bait shops, carp fishing is big business here and the baits and additives used are a science in their own right. My Aunty's boyfriend is a tester for one of them. Try googling Nash baits or Mainline.

Take some thin strips of beef and set them in the sun or chicken strips...When they dry out, put them in some sardine or tuna oil...Let them soak in that for awhile .....You can also use beef and chicken blood...
BUT- if you are trying to catch catfish and you want to really catch some fish then just do this...Go get you a bar of Ivory soap
and cut it into small peices...Put them on your hook and it will form a cloud in the water that for some reason or the other the fish love...Try it -REALLY- and this is what I call CLEAN FISHING...
