When David was about to face Goliath - he picked up 5 stones --- he only used one---- what was the purpose of the other stones?

God has symbolism throughout the whole Bible.
Faith is represented by the number five.
When David picked up five stones, he was in type carrying FAITH.

But you only need a little faith to go a long ways, that's why he only used the one stone.

We may find out more about it than this but the lord helps those that help themselves. Even with the lord on your side you should be prepared to go the extra mile if needed. Or in other words be prepared for the worst and do your best. He was just showing that he knew the lord would help him, but didn't take for granted it would be his first stone.
