Walk into a bank and holler "This is a stick-up!" Then wait for the cops. The county will feed ya for quite a few years and all it'll cost ya is sitting in the pokey all that time.
Seriously, I suspect you already know the cheapest ways to eat. If you can cook, all the better. You shop at Aldi's or any of the no-frills markets, at your local Farmer's Market (in season, of course) and buy off-brand products. You learn to shepherd your money by not spending it on frills like fast food. You can make a thousand good meals out of ground beef. Use it in combination with beans in chili, or stir cooked ground beef into an equal volumne of cooked macaroni elbows with diced onion, diced tomatoes with their liquid, salt and pepper for seasoning. Heck, buy a cookbook! Ask at your local bookstore for one meant for folks on a strict budget. It'll be one of the best investments y'can make, and with proper care, ought'a last ya forty years!

Wild rice, not white rice, as it can be ate plain, spiced, sweetned as a cereal. Shop early in the morning as the prices are marked down overnight or very early and you can buy the marked down items instead of full price later in the day. Skip canned soups and buy fresh vegetables and hamburger and make your own in a big stew pot - then divide it up into quart jars and freeze them after they have completely cooled - it might seem initially expensive and a lot of work, but when you break the cost factor down, you wil have saved a lot of money. Buy velveeta cheese and then pasta on its own - this also is a little more work to fix, but you can boil water and then you can fix the pasta and melt the velveeta in the microwave - it's bulk shopping instead of convenience shopping. Buy your canned goods at a Valu Sav or Aldees - you can buy them by the case, even though they are seconds, but they are just as good - and you can fry green beans in a small amount of butter or olive oil and they are delicious instead of always having them just boiled. Once you've baked a potato in the microwave add salad dressing to it for a change - buy dry beans and the fatty end of a ham - eat the ham after you've roasted it and put the fatty part in a slow cooker while you're gone to work with the dry beans and some water - mix a quick Jiffy cornbread and bake in the oven - and you've got more than one meal's worth of beans - so divide it - put it in a jar, cool, and freeze - do put lids on after they are cool. Hope some of these ideas help you begin your process to more variety and cheaper grocery bills!

Slow cooking inexpensive cuts of meat makes them more tender. Mixing small amounts of meat with rice or pasta is a good way to stretch the meal. Look into sauce recipes to enhance flavor. Try a search for low budget recipes. There are many out there that are well worth a try! Bon Apetite'

Buy a large pack of ground beef, divide it into servings and put into freezer bags, freeze. When you want a serving take one out to thaw. This is a cheaper way.
Do the same with porkchops, chicken pieces.
This saves money in the end.
Get some stewing beef and fresh vegetables and make a big pot of stew, this will last you quite a few meals.

This works I did it for years.
At 4:00 or 5:00 what ever time happy hours start were your are.
buy a drink eat like crazy off to the next bar.
most happy hours are only a few hours so you may want to do some recon work to see who has what.
You should be able to hit at least three happy hours have a full belly and be happy.
And you don't have to cook anything

scrambled eggs with vegetables. sliced or ground turkey in patties or just laid out in a bowl or on a plat, cover with some cheese & nuke for 1-2 minutes. Chicken or beef broth (soup base) with vegetables piled in and cooked. Boil pasta in chicken broath, dress it with olive oil and fresh tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms .. whatever you like. fruit, fruit, fruit ... make a smoothie with plain yogurt, ice, fruit & protein powder. Tuna (only once a week because of the mercury) or canned salmon or other packaged fisy mixed with a little mayonaise, lemon juice, hadr boiled eggs, celery, scallions -- makes a great light salad. Spinach - raw or cooked, add nuts & cheese. Beans, beans, beans - the "lentil-like" beans (pinto, kidney, etc.) can make a great main dish. Cook with or without meat. Add some cheese.
I'm getting hungry ... gonna go make kyself a cheap meal!

I love rice and beans.
Cook brown rice on full for 5 minutes, then on 1/2 power for 14 minutes.
Add a can of beans cooked in sause (Goya makes it).
You're done.
I only cook in the microwave.

Beans. They're inexpensive, nutritious, naturally low in fat and calories. And you can season them to satisfy almost any kind of hankerin' that you might be having. Feel like Indian? Throw in some curry ! Mexican? Cumin ! Southern? Liquid smoke or a bit of bacon drippings ! They're quite versatile, and really good for you. And dirt cheap.
I lived on them almost exclusively back when I was short on cash.

make a garden salad with your fav. veggies, add your favorite fish, chicken or meat cooked to your liking(tuna in the can is cheap and nutritious) boiled eggs, shredded cheese and sunflower seeds. i like to have some fruit and a scoop of cottage cheese with this, too, sometimes just use the cottage cheese as salad dressing. very nutritious and little to no cooking depending on what you choose to put on your sld. keep your sld. in an air tight container, it will keep nice for about 5 days.
