The dog was a fawn colored great dane. It did not have cropped ears (pretty standard for great danes in Europe).

The black stripes were painted on.

Lots of dogs with a brindle coat look like they have stripes... but I didn't watch the British open, so I didn't see the dog. Do a search for brindle dogs and maybe you'll see a pic of the breed you saw. I did a google search for a "british callimorian" and there were no hits. Is it spelled right?

I'm not sure what dog you saw but i have a reverse brindle pit that has tiger stripes. he is a gorgeous dog, with the brindle lines reversed.
there are many web sites you can go to to find out. just type in dogs to your browser.

Elizabeth

My doggy was behind one of those picket fences, when they sprayed it white. Does this count?
