Arthritis is a joint problem. Specifically the cartilage and tendons. Not the bones.
A company called Ark Naturals has a whole line of products just for arthritis and joint problems. Go to their web site for a retailer near you.
Also a product called Hip Health and another called Joint Health. It is a supplement you get from pet and feed stores. Call around.
Look for products with glucosamine and condroitin in them, it helps joints.
Good luck.
PS. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen is poison to dogs. Never give Advil, Tylenol, or Motrin to dogs. Ask a vet before you give any over the counter drug to any pet.

Sounds like your vet would not vaccinate the dog without first doing an examination and perhaps a fecal exam and blood test - if you didn't go there before and had no transferred medical records, or if your dog had not been to the vet in over a year, those are all perfectly legitimate things to do and charge for. It sounds like the bone is either stuck or has perforated the gut. This is no time to delay treatment. Either get over your mistrust of vets or get to work with a shovel...you may well be needing a grave.

We give our Chocolate Lab - Glucosamine (500 mg) and Chondroitin (400 mg). You can buy them at any vitamin store or BJ wholesale club (BJ's would be the cheapest). You don't have to get the dog kind, human kind is just as good and believe me it's less cost.
We give 2 tablets crushed with food in the morning and 1 tablet at night.

Arthritis is not treated by making the bones stronger. It is a breakdown of a joint. You can treat with Glucosamine, it may help, or you can treat with pain medication from the vet.
Calcium is what makes bones stronger, but it will do nothing for arthritis!!!!
See a vet!!!!
