Well, you take a person with half a brain and add one cup of craziness, and two cups of zaniness, and a tablespoon of warped humour and mix it all together ..... and you get one Loonie ....

Loonies (one dollar coins) are a composition coin, which is partly copper and partly nickle. The Toonie, (two dollar coin) is the same size as the loonie but has a nickle circle inserted in the middle, with the bronze (copper alloy) around the outside.
There are no one or two dollar bills in Canada, so you get loonies and toonies in change and at the end of the day can wind up with $38 in change in your pocket! Now they are contemplating a $5 coin. We're all going to have reinforced pockets if this keeps up.
