your Veterinarian can spay her as young as 4 months but many prefer to spay around 6 months. there is a lot of debate on when the best time to spay is. but there are few medical reasons for spaying later rather than sooner. some say that spaying sooner will prevent some behaviors from being established but the proof is not really there.
Talk to your veterinarian for the best advice on this.

a dog in heat is a messy thing. I would suggest getting her spayed right away. The normal time that vets suggest it 10 weeks old so your dog is over the age cut off. But studies show it really decreases the rate of cancer in dogs if you spay before their first period. So call your vet.

Right now.
Some Vet's do have an age limit on when they will spay or neuter, but I believe most will do it by the age of 6 months for certain.
The sooner you have her spayed the better. You will have less problems with health in the future, and you won't have to worry with the problems associated with her coming into her heat cycle if you do it before she has one.

Right away, before her first cycle. In shelters they spay at 6 weeks and up, a private vet will recommend around 4 months.

It's best to get a dog spayed around 7 months, before she goes into heat.

This is the time to do it. You don't want to get them spayed so much when they are already in heat, as they will bleed more during the operation.

spaying is the worst thing you can do to a dog. because dogs are so emotional it cuts their spirit and alters their personality as well. if she is sweet and kind don't do it. (now doing this to cats is different, it really doesn't seem to alter them very much at all.and they do have large litters ) when the vet cuts out your dogs overies and she looses her body's natural ability to produce hormones it will screw up her thyroid gland really bad. and the thyroid regulates body metabolism. she will get fat , maybe loose her desire to play and will feel sluggish the rest of her life. she might not even want to go bark at the door to see who his there. doing this to such a young animal is very hard on them. I wouldn't do it unless maybe she has had a litter or two. and if you don't want to breed her. I still wouldn't do it. you have to be responsible for her. get a dog line if possible for her to run around the yard with. if you are not walking her. but if you are going to do this I would wait until she is at least a full year old because her body and bones is still growing and she needs her natural hormones. I can only see doing this to a dog in case of disease or over aggressivge dangerous breeds.
your dog will love you more unaltered and will bond with you in a more trusting relationship.

Do it now! She could come into heat at any time, and that makes it a much more complex, risky, and expensive operation.
A spayed female dog will be a much more loyal and playful companion for you than a b-i-t-c-h.

We just got a new puppy, and the vet told us anywhere from four to six months is the perfect time, but DEFINITELY BEFORE they go into heat. Best of luck with your dog!!!
