why don't you use (3 x 1/4 teaspoon) -- or (1/2 + 1/4 teaspoons)

I always just take a teaspoon and fill it 3/4 full....thats what I do anyway..cooking isnt about exacts most of the time.....you should read an really old cook book they just say dash, pinch etc....lol
