It's an absolutely wonderful place to live. So diverse & culturally rich. So much to do and experience. It's an amazing place with many interesting people that are attacted to the unparalled opportunites. The people are quite friendly & interesting. It is easy to "get around the city". . .no car is needed. And New York is actually one of the safest cities in the United States to live in & visit. There is no place like New York. . .and perhaps you'll choose to live here too.

I think NY is one of those places that you either love or hate.

It can be too much for some people - noise, people. But others just love it and can never imagine living there. If you enjoy peace and quiet, it's not a place for you; however, if you would like to live somewhere where there is always something going on, where you can get almost anything at any time of day then you'll like it.

I love it. But I lived in a great building.

It's expensive - everything is. Groceries, transportation, etc. etc....but it's worth it.

It gets a little noisy (depending on your neighborhood)...after awhile you get to like it though. I had more restaurants and bars within walking distance than I could count. Life in the city is vibrant and teeming with diversity - there's always something going on.

I really miss living there, but cost is a major factor.

great city. like everyone else said. more entertainment, cuisine and shopping to do in a lifetime BUT with crowded commutes, horrible smells and expensive everything. still id live nowhere else in america. i cope by renting a car and getting out of the city and laying on a grassy hill in in the country every so often. lol.

Fantastic, there is nothing like it. You would have to experience it yourself. You will either really love it or really hate it. NYC is not for everyone. I moved to Florida a few years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't regret my move. The difference is tremendous. Fast paced living to a slow crawl take time to adjust and digest.

I think living in NYC is probaly dangerous. But I could be wrong. In some parts of NYC there are bad areas. But other than that I'm sure it's a good place to live.

Its hard to describe....everything you could ever want is here. you can find just about any culture, cusine, ingredient...there is music, art, theater. Its a world capital.

But, its crowded and can be confusing at times.

Everyone has coping strategies...

You need to experience it. Most of us wouldn NOT live anywhere else.

Read NY Times or Metro NY magazine more frequently and find out.

Check out these websites, they might tell you more about it:

Hope that helps.

Well I don't live there, but I go there a lot and visit family. It's very crowded, and if you want to go shopping, many things are expensive annd its very hectic & busy.
