very few armies use the draft anymore
the armies in the middle east use a mandatory draft at the turning of the age of 17 you must preform at least 1 year of duty
in general though there are no drafts
unless there is a major conflict that the reserves or the regular forces cannot cope with then a draft may be issued ONLY from the top levels of the government
IE world war 1 , world war 2, and the Vietnam war are the most current times where a government has issued a draft notice.

The web page you appropriate to isn't credible. perchance if the tale changed into carried on CNN or Fox information you may want to believe the rumor. men are the purely ones who've to enroll in the draft interior the U.S. the reason Israel has conscription for each person is because they're attacked on a time-honored foundation. the purely reason i might want to work out the U.S. drafting women is that if there have been no longer sufficient human beings volunteering for the protection rigidity and/or if each and every of the lads died (i'm no longer declaring women cant strive against, i'm only declaring as how the regulation is written now). and seeing that the protection rigidity is honestly TURNING human beings AWAY and downsizing (Air rigidity), i do not see a woman draft taking position each and every time quickly.

IF the draft were reinstated - which it is not, this is still an all volunteer military - then yes, I believe they absolutely should. If we do have equal rights, then women have as much right to be drafted as men.
The funny thing is, most combatant units still don't allow women in their ranks. I imagine there would be a huge furor over women being drafted - and they wouldn't even be doing a fraction of the fighting.

There is no draft at this time in the USA,and no we do not draft women, perhaps we should.
Israel requires every one of a certain age to spend some time in the army I think.

Like everyone else said, no.

Men are still required to register for selective service and that is incase we need to activate the draft. A draft is only used in times of dire need (eg: WW II).. when they need a lot of manpower.

It has been addressed several times by the government and each time they decide not to force women to register.

There is currently no military draft in United States, and only males are required to register for the draft.

There is no draft.

Last time America used a draft it did not include women.

Women are NOT allowed to register with selective service.

It is up to Congress to reinstate the draft and they will decide if women are included next time.

Current they have not created a draft for women but that is not to say they will never create one. There is just not enough me to handle the demand for soldiers.

Yes and no, they have the option of filling out a selective service card. If they do they can be drafted if the opt not then they can't.
