I understand that some guys would much rather date skinny chicks rather than fat ones. My question is this:

Would a guy date a fat chick if she was in the process of losing weight on a regular basis because she cared about her body and her health (not saying that chunky chicks don't)? I'm curious because I'm in that spot right now. I know I'm fat but I've lost about 30something lbs. so far (I still have a ways to go, though).

Why not. I'm in that position right now and have never regreted it since day 1. My friends have all met her and think we make a great couple and couldn't be more happy for us. She works out twice a week and looks wonderful everytime I see her.

If this person is in your life then there is no problem because he picked you with the size he saw in the first place. I could see if you were trying to get a boyfriend and you two were not actually dating, and you don't exactly know were things stand, but if a guy is dating you and your a heavy person he knew what he liked regardless of your weight. This guy would date you for love not your body. I do think that it's really great that you are losing weight because you care more about your health, that alone should be the biggest motivation, but there is nothing wrong if you want to look like a different person either. Anybody that can accept us as we are and doesn't complain is someone we want to have in our lives.

If I were you, I'd take care of yourself before you start dating. They do say that women gain about 10 pounds from dating because you are always go out and eat with your boyfriend. Maybe getting a boyfriend right now might interfere with how well you are doing, but then again they might not even get the chance to mess you up in your progress. Good luck!!

My thoughts are If you were 300 hundred lbs and had lots of money I bet no man would turn their head. But the real fact is if a guy likes you he likes you for the person you are not for your body weight.

I personally like girls of all shapes and sizes and would have no problem with that. The fact that you are doing it for yourself instead of to impress others is awesome. Good Luck!!!

It does not matter what you look like on the out side it is what on the inside of a person whom i look at ..don`t let any man change who you are because you are overweight...If you like the person you are then he should too...

maybe the guy is dating the "person" and not just her weight--
if he dates her while she is heavy and then dumps her when she is thin then he is a "chubby chaser" and prefers meatier women. if you suspect this, ask your man now so you wont get hurt later.
