To mess with our heads.

Seriously.

If I was God, I'd totally mess with my creation's brains. Either that or he did it to put other life on. XD Maybe the universe is God's Garden!

Since God wanted to. God is the creator...and He created all things... But, why He created the heavens (the old word for space) and the worlds is beyond me. It causes me to wonder and makes me think of how small this world and me really are. This thing and the people on it are only one part of a much larger, much more splendid picture than we can ever imagine. Like a giant painting that you can only see some of and not the whole thing. A painting that is always expanding...kind of like a big balloon that will never pop (or, at least, not until God pops it.)

So why did God creat the worlds? There's no answer for it. The best thing we can do is except that God made them and that He is the creator of all things. No matter how big or small they are. Yet, I guess when we get to Heaven (if you have put your faith in Christ) you can ask Him...and I'm pretty sure He will answer. He is the creator, after all.

It is beyond our comprehension the exact reason why God did this, but these planets show no other harm, so I don't see any problems with the other planets just being there. The Earth is good enough, which is why there is no other life out there to worship God. He put us all here so we could be together as a species, and as brethren.

Several places in the Psalms (songs in the Old Testament) the composers stop and stare into the heavens with awe for their Maker. The earth is great, but if other, larger bodies didn't exist, we might become even more full of false pride than we already are.

The earth is good as a part of god. There are other worlds because there are other parts.

There is only the earth.

Math Here:

Assumeing that the factors that gave rise to life on earth are to be applied to othere planets.

You have a set of factors like Fx1 = Star size (our sun) giving a 10% chance that a star of our size is found there will be a planet with life that’s 1 in 10 chance.

There are listed some 25 factors and giving each factor a 10% chance to each we have a formula that looks like this:

Fx1 x Fx2 x Fy1 x fy2 x fz1 x fz2 x fz3 x fg1 x fg2 x fg3 x fh1 x fh2 continue

You end up with a fraction that looks something like this

1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

To say you have a better chance of being bit by a shark and struck by lightning in a mine in the gobi desert Three times in one week.
is just a flip of the coin.

When we read "for God so loved the world..." the Greek word used there is 'cosmos'.

God shall have created only two cosmos'. Scripture says if there were others I would have told you so.

This cosmos has its heaven(s) and earth. And the new cosmos shall have its heaven(s) and earth.

Those other worlds don't really exist. They are a figment of scientist's imagination. No real Christian Scientist believes that there are other worlds, only images painted on the canvas of the firmament.

dont you ever wonder about things outside your own understanding...if man had nothing to drive towards, nothing to explore, nothing to wonder about, how hopeless would that be? God knew we would need something to see at night, the universe and all its splendor is a gift, the "Hands that paint the sky" dont do so for an absent reason.
