Sudoku looks complicated, but it's really not. There is a grid of numbers, some of them filled in. What you must do is guess the numbers that should be there but are missing.

In Sudoku, each line across and line down must have the numbers 1-9 (or 1-5, 1-6, etc, based on board size) in each horizontal and vertical row. But, you can not repeat any number in a row. From there, it's just a process of elimination.

That's it in a nutshell. Easy to learn, hard to master. And highly addictive once you get the hang of it.

fill in the boxes of the sudoku board with single digit numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)....without repeating a number in the line twice.....vertically or horizontally

There's nine squares across, nine squares down, and nine boxes with nine squares in each. The numbers 1-9 go in each of those boxes.....but the trick is that they have to line up right. Like 1-9 has to go across and down and in each box, but you can't double up in any of them. It's hard to explain on here, but there are lots of websites you go to online to figure out how to play and all. I love it...I hope you do too!
