He could lose some weight, see a doctor, or breathe in that anti-snore mister (I can't remember what it's called, but saw it on TV).

I went found some stuff for you and hopefully it will help. It shows different causes of smoking. Best of luck to you!
One of the common causes of snoring seems to be excess body weight. Using exercise as part of a program to lose weight can also have the added benefit of stopping your snoring. This is by far the most natural way to quiet those nightly demons.
You can't change the genetic factors that are causes of snoring, but you can avoid some snoring "triggers" such as alcohol to decrease the amount and severity of your snoring. You can also maintain a proper weight, eat right and take part in a regular exercise routine.
If you are dining later and consuming milk it might be worth noting if you snore that night or if you snore when normally you don't. If you do discover that this is true, than the next step would obviously be to restrict your dairy intake or to consume products from the dairy family earlier in the day so your body has time to digest them before bedtime. If you rely on the milk you are drinking with your evening meal as a form of daily calcium, perhaps try drinking it with breakfast or lunch instead. Those few hours might make all the difference in whether or not you snore.
Alcohol can cause snoring. By partaking of a drink or two you can be setting yourself up to snore. The reason is that when we drink our bodies become relaxed, this includes the muscles of the throat. Often when a person has drank a few cocktails they will fall into a very deep sleep, a very relaxed sleep which can result in very loud snoring. If you've ever been at a party or social gathering where someone has consumed too much alcohol and fallen asleep, you might remember that they were snoring, and if you told them after, they'd say that they don't snore. That just might be true often a person only snores when they have been drinking liquor.
If a person smokes they are generally more likely to snore. The reasoning behind this is quite simple. The chemicals found in cigarettes and cigars cause changes in the tissue of the throat. When this tissue becomes irritated it can make a difference in how air flows through the throat. This difference is often what results in snoring.

There are several things that he can try. First would be the Breath Right strips. Some people have had success with those. If that doesn't help, he should ask his doctor to schedule a sleep study to be sure he doesn't suffer from sleep apnea, a potentially deadly condition. If he does have it, they might prescribe a CPAP machine that will help. If he is even slightly overweight, that could contribute to the problem. In any case, it's probably a good idea for him to see a doctor to discuss what he can do. He probably doesn't even know how often he is wakened by his own snoring, leading to tiredness and lack of clarity the next day.
In the meantime, I recommend ear plugs, a soothing fan or sleeping in the guest room. Or all three!
Good luck to you both! Hope you both end up getting some good nights sleep,

Snoring is a sign of a health problem - my father after years of snoring had a sleep apnea test done and found out that he has asthma. He no longer snores and the humming of the machine is a sleep tonic to my mother.
If they do not seem to be concerned with his snoring, then ask your physician for Trazodone. It is not a sleeping pill, but it releases a chemical into the brain that says "it's time to go to sleep and rest now." I take this, as my muscles spasm throughout the night and cause me loss of sleep. The spasms still occur, but I'm never aware of it now as I sleep very well, and I don't have a sleeping agent hangover feeling. I never know if my husband is up or down in the night or unless he needs me to know.

By "partner", I assume you mean "sex partner", and you MUST mean husband. Nomally, homosexuals who are not allowed to be married have "partners". Normally, snoring is a sign from God that you are living in sin and you will be reminded of it every time you sleep together. I assume you are having sex with him before you sleep together? The simple solution is for you to get marriage counseling since this problem has not gone away since your wedding. If you are not married and you are still having sex with him and sleeping together, well, there's your problem, and it is imperative that you cease this behavior today and stop living in sin. I'm telling you right now that married men and women don't snore. If you know he snores, it means that he is using you for sex like an unpaid you-know-what instead of marrying you, which is where the saying "don't buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" came from, and the snoring is God's way of slapping you down.

If you wake up and there snoring plug there noise and roll them over onto there side. Also they might not want to drink beer because that wousens snoring.

My husband snores, and the craziest thing I found that fixed it is a 2 inch memory foam pad. No kidding. I didn't believe it when other people said it would work, but it did! Plus, you'll be more comfortable sleeping. Check Overstock.com

Use a fan. Just turn a fan on in the room to drown it out enough to sleep. I used to use that trick when I had an apartment at the end of a runway. Works for jets. I've got an annoying neighbor's dog that won't shut up at night. The fan works with him too. You don't have to have it blow on you, just need the steady hum.

Well I have been with my husband for 19 years and he snores. I've had to adjust because there's not much you can do. I use ear plugs!
