I have a friend who says she wishes that the end of the world would occur so that she could be with Jesus. She is a very happy person, and loves life. When she says stuff like this though I can not help but think she is suicidal. Do you pray for the end of the world to occur soon?

I think that some people have been indocrinated to say this. Even Jesus prayed to God to take "This cup from Me". He wanted to live and not die a death of torture.

You friend isn't suicidal if she really loves life. Some people just find a lot of joy and comfort in religion. They are just basically not afraid of death because of what they believe will occur after-wards.

A person of faith knows that suicide isn't acceptable in the eyes of God. But, they should also understand that the end of the world doesn't need to occur either. I would hope she isn't praying for that. Her time will come.

The Bible is full of prophecies which have come true. This has been verified by many valid historical and archaeological sources.

There are many prophecies in the Bible that are happening before our very eyes! It's very exciting!

There are only a few prophecies left in the Bible which have not come true. They all deal with end time events.

The end IS coming soon, and I am very happy about it. Why wouldn't someone be happy to leave this ugly hate filled world full of pain, sorrow, suffering, sickness, and death and go to a beautiful place without any of that to live forever with a God who loves me desperately? I'm not suicidal! I would be out of my mind to NOT want this!

Well, a lot of my friends and I are getting prepared. Here are some of the steps we've taken:
Put ALL our investments in very short term funds.
Cashed in the kid's college funds. I mean, what's the point, right?
Stopped using contraceptives. Why bother?
Eat anything we want. Cholesterol? Who cares?
No more medical check-ups. Our souls will live forever.
And Harry has stocked up on marshmallows. He says it's "just in case" he gets sent to the "other place." He's such a kidder!

It goes without saying we're saved and haven't sinned in years.

I hope this helps!

Actually I do. Just look around and see all the junk going on in the world today. It has to end soon, I can't forsee the world continuing on much more. It's getting more and more crowded on a daily basis. Global warming . Natural disasters. Wars, etc.

If your friend is as religious as you claim Suicide isn't on her plate. I do however believe some people are simply tired of all the hatred in the world today and want God to return and bring with him PEACE the world over. It's a Nice thought but I don't know if will see it in our lifetime.

I don't want the end of the world to come too soon... I have so much left to do! But I don't fear God's plan and I am ready to spend eternity with Him whenever He sees fit.
