Good or bad, I feel everything happens the way it should b/c we're all part of the course of nature. So where do ethics come in? Why isn't the rest of nature subject to them?

See that's what I'm saying. We are livnig in harmony. Everything that lives, dies. Earth started out ugly, it'll end ugly. Everything happens they way it should, there is no preset of rules.

I belive that humans and animals have free-will..therefore we are not subject to all the laws of nature> animals act on INSTINCT,but people act on CONSCIENCE>Humans have the capacity to know right and wrong..that is what makes us moral beings BECAUSE we have the CHOICE to do good or bad> if we can't choose then morals don't exist> but we "know" they exist because they are part of who we are therefore we have free-will> There are somethings that aren't explained well in the physical world...gives clues of a spiritual* world>peace.

i tend to feel the same as you do in regard to everything happening the way it should, although there are times i feel otherwise. i think ethics are a human trait and that it is simply in our nature. as for "the rest of nature", i have not yet solidified an opinion. i suppose you mean to say that everything else doesn't seem to act based on ethics or is not subject to behaving ethically at all. the way i see it, there are three ways to look at it. one, the rest of nature is good and is therefore not held responsible. two, humans can be evil and must be morally guided. three, nature is, in fact, somehow subject to ethics.

This planet would be a lot better off without "man." Of course, "man" wouldn't be. But you will notice the distinction: Man is the only creature on this planet that does not live in symbiotic harmony with the environment. Ultimately, ethics aren't worth a hill of beans if the planet dies.

Your question is confusing. Why does man separate himself from physical nature, or from human nature?
If physical nature, it's because nature is brutal and terrifying. Ask a gazelle how it feels to live in the land of cheetahs, or ask a seal how they like swimming with Great Whites.
If human nature, it's because humans can be cruel, deceitful, treacherous, duplicitous, and thoroughly boring and irritating. Who wouldn't want to separate themselves from this crap?
As for why ethics don't apply to the rest of nature, it's because no other creature but the human has any choices. People can choose whether to kill or not. Lions can't. People can choose whether or not to lie. No other creature has this option.
DUH.

some ppl think that it is humain to kill a horse with broken leg, but not to kill a human with damaged brain cause human has reason!!! even though he does not. well, they think that reason is an excuse for morality, while i, actualy, often have strong believes that some things are right even though they are complitely the opposite from what ethics say. to me ićm the one with reason. i think ethic is an old thing desinged for control of weakminded, and it still works.

We as humans are born with a conscience. Animals, such as nature were born with instinct. Ethics is a human thing that our conscience has come up with.

the rest of nature does not have the intelligence to even understand ethics like we do. we do this and separate ourselves because we have the intelligence to be conscious about our actions.
