Try buildings, flowers, trees. All of these make good subjects for photography.
Try picking a theme and going out and trying to find a photo that fits the theme. For example, use the theme "New". Walk around your own neighbourhood and you can probably find dozens of things that fit the theme.
It get's easier with practice, of course.
Good luck

I like to bring my equipment, a blanket, some snacks and go into the woods; find a nice spot to lay down, grab your camera and point it towards the sky; you can get some exceptional shots through the trees, catching clouds/birds in motion...or go to the beach, a fishing pier; there's nothing more exciting then seeing a person's facial features when they're pulling in a big fish; go to a part of town where there's a lot a graffiti and start documenting some of the more interesting stuff, go to an animal rescue shelter and take picture of the various pets up for adoption and submit to your local paper....

If you are considering photography professionally I suggest going into still life photography.
You need patience and lots of practice but if you are a good still life photographer you can make really good money.
I personally like people but also have done some still life.
You can see my site at www.vidura.net
Good luck with school!

If you are taken photography classes, you have to go to certain procedure that the teacher has to follow; however, I think that is the last part of any course in photography.
You have to go to the simplest task before you go into people, they are more complicated than you think.
You have to see the shape of his face, (square, round, triangle, etc), his type of nose; if the eyes are the same, etc etc so you know where to set the light and the camera angle, it is no so easy, (easy when you know what you are doing).

when this happens to me I usually go back to my manual SLR with a fixed 50mm lens and go for a walk it makes you look at things differently you really have to work for your image as well. I find that getting back to the basics really helps reset my creative side because you really have to look for a good composition with a fixed focal length. Another thing I do is Go to www.photo.net and check out other peoples galleries they are usually a good source for inspiration as well. You see how other people view the world and that can sometimes really help.

I find that everyday items make interesting subjects. Play with lighting and shadows to make them more dramatic. Plants and insects are good things to take pictures of as well in the summer months :)

We like going to the beach and getting sunsets. It's been done to death but it is a nice way to recharge your batteries.
Just keep shooting, all photographers go through a lull at times
