A good date in my opinion contains a number of factors. Find out if the girl you're talking to is interested in card tricks. A good ice-breaker would probably be to bring up the card tricks, show her one or two, and ask her what she thinks of magic in general. Don't make this the basis of the entire date however.

I personally would find it adorable if a guy did something like that for me; however I'm sure a lot of women would find it dorky in the same right.

Just be yourself, try to talk about things the both of you seem to enjoy and relax.

It's probably because he just wanted to make himself, as well as you feel comfortable;afterall, it was a first date and first dates can be pretty awkward sometimes. That's probably just his way of "breaking the ice".
I don't think it's lame. Better he do card tricks than other type of "tricks". Go for a second date......

If the subject comes up and she seems to enjoy the show - then let the card tricks begin - but pay close attention - if she's feigning interest, then drop them quickly and seek out her talents. It's always hard to keep a balance on the first date and usually it's best to start out with conversation about the other person and keep steering it that direction as opposed to self.

a simple balducci levitation would have a better effect than a card trick and it's easier - just ask david blaine.

obviously you couldn't do it and have it spliced with footage of you being lifted with wires and state "no camera tricks were used..." but it still looks good, so why not.

No! I think its cute! Plus it shows that he's comfortable being himself around you if he's already confident enough to do dorky card tricks! He's just trying to lighten the mood =)

It depends how lame the card trick is. If he's like that what's-his-name...____ Blaine or something, then he show me them all of them!

depends on the girl.....
if she likes you for your looks, then no (usally snooty, cheerleaders, ect)
if she likes you for the inside, then yes(usally dorks, pretty but not popular, ect)
If you dont know what kind of girl she is then i say no just to be on the safe side. Have fun!
