It is much more important to enjoy everything in moderation and eat a balanced diet. What is a balanced diet you ask. It's getting at least 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables. Green leafy vegetables such as brocoli, spinach, brussel sprouts, etc are especially important to maintaining balance in your essential fatty acids such as Omega 3's and Omega 6's. Ideally we should be consuming these Essential Fatty Acids at a ratio of 1:1. Refined sugars such as breads pastas and desserts throw that ratio off 1:26 (3s vrs 6s). Eating more Fruits and vegetables will balance out this discrepancy, but reducing the amounts of refined grains will have the most benefit. This is also beneficial regarding weight loss and more importantly overall health.
An easy rule of thumb is to divide your dinner plate into 1/4s. I quarter should be protein, (meat etc) and the remaining 3/4s should be fruits and vegetables.
Also another notable concern is water consumption. We should be drinking 1/2 our weight in ounces of water. I am a bodybuilding and triathlete, I weigh 201 and drink a minimum of 100 oz of water everyday.

There is a book on the market called Eating Right 4 Your Blood Type by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo - it is excellent for altering your eating lifestyle and I have found it to be one of the few things that if I eat out of my blood type - I truly notice the difference - I have the list of the foods if you want to contact me and I can forward the list to you for your blood type. But the book can be purchased relatively inexpensive on ebay or at various other book sites - you might even try bookcloseouts.com. There are not many things that I'm willing to endorse as genuinely working - but this one does.

There's a book called Eat Right 4 Your Type.
Some claim to have good results from this program, others claim it's just hype. I recommend researching it and possibly trying it for a while. I don't think it's a dangerous or unhealthy diet to follow in any case. Type A's are supposed to be basically vegetarian, with occasional fish and poultry, but no red meat.

Hogwash. There is only one "MAGIC" formula:
BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU CONSUME
PS: another tip is to go to bed hungry.
