How do you explain your beliefs to an outsider?

For discussion purposes, I can be considered Wiccan (I have some differences in my beliefs, but nothing horribly significant to anyone who only needs to know generalities).

I explain MY path as: I honor the cycles of nature, recognize the masculine and feminine energies of the Divine, and believe that the Divine is both immanent (within ourselves) and transcendant (outside of ourselves).

Yes. There are as many different answers to that as there are wiccans or pagans. Check out the Witches Voice link below. That should cover just about any thing you might want to know.

I would start by having them ask me question because explaining such a loaded question would be very tedious at best.

Then if I explained it the best I could and they still didn't understand, I would point them to some Wiccan authors with witch my views agree with.

I would start by asking that person to ask me some specific questions because there is A LOT I could say to describe my beliefs. Too much for me to type here! Try asking some more specific questions.

i have studied Wicca belief. i let it explain itself. there are many good books and i don't want to be the person who sends you the wrong way. we must all find what feels right for us. our paths do not always go the same way so something that is right for me, might not be right for you. Wicca is the belief of life in everything around us. the trees, the water, the air, the sky, all. there are energies in everything that surrounds us. we are all one with the universe for God is one with us all.
blessed be to you,
Elizabeth

Hey button, if you actually are correct and there is a god, he's not going to let your intolerant hate-filled arrogant soul into it.

Go crawl under the rock you came out from underneath, huh?

Doesn't your religion teach you something about judging others?
Nah, forget it. You can't even get your own religion correct. You're a waste of human flesh you hypocrite.

I'm not wiccan nor would I be interested about someone who doesn't worship God. The earth can't get you to heaven.
