Its not "mean" but not very polite.

If have mixed feelings about the homeless......some of them are there by choice, because they are too lazy and just want and expect handouts.......

There are a few of them that really did have something happen...........but they still need to get past it and re enter life......

I have a hard time feeling sorry for them because they wont help themselves. I lived in the city and I offered one a job pulling weeds, and helping with yardwork......I told her I would use her 1 time a week and pay her cash.......She said no way I aint pulling no weeds........??????????

I have a question back at you..........where would this homeless guy get a shower? and if he could get in one when he put his dirty clothes back on hed still be smelly right??? Ironic

I have lived among the homeless at one time. Did it occur to you that maybe the person had no place to take a shower. It is hard to find a restroom even when you are homeless. Been there and done that.

The fact that your soapy salvo was not entirely polite doesn't mean you didn't save the poor bum (literally) from a potentially life-threatening infection, should he shower up in the next several days. Plus, he'll smell better; his chances of meeting a hot homeless broad just went up a couple hundred percent...

Not if he really needs a shower. Mean is paying another homeless guy to beat him up. Hygiene advice is not mean. Not the nicest thing in the world, but I wouldn't classify it as MEAN.

You are not mean. I am mean. I would have spat on him and then called a cop and told the cop he assaulted me. Then I would have sued his family for letting him be homeless and causing me pain for having to look at his stinking a-s-s on the street when I walked from one place to another.

Yes you are very mean. He has no home! Therefore no running water, no shower. How inconsiderate can you be. People have feelings. even homeless people.

It is extremely rude to do something like that and insensitive. You could have been interpreting the look he gave you in the wrong light. Even if he was giving you a distasteful look, it is wrong to put someone down just because they did something you didn't like. You have to be the bigger person, although you may not like it.
