First of all, stop rubbing her face in it - it's disgusting and teaches the dog nothing. Terriers are very intelligent, but they are also very stubborn. You have to catch her in the act or better yet, right before she has to go.
Re-housebreaking an older dog is very difficult - she has already learned that it's OK to use the house as a toilet. When she has to go, she is uncomfortable - so she goes and she feels better. This is called "self-rewarding" behavior.
First, have the carpets and the spots she pees and poops on professionally cleaned with a solvent that destroys urine odors; otherwise she will be attracted back to the same spots.
Start over as if you were training an 8-week-old pup. Keep the dog in a crate whenever you can't supervise her. Keep her on a leash tied to your belt, so she can't sneak off and do her business in the house. Take her outside for walk and stay out there with her, so you can praise her when she does what you want. After a six months of doing that, you MIGHT be able to trust her again.

Dear Big B, and I'm sure that doesn't stand for Brain! You've had your dog for 4 years and don't know anything about her behavior. You can't rub her nose in it and then take her out, it's not going to do any good. She just had puppies! Did you stop to think that her self control isn't what it used to be, and that look she gives you is her way of saying, "I'm sorry, but I just can't help it!" Take her outside more often and praise her whenever she does her 'business'. See how long it takes her to "need to go" after a meal or taking a drink, and reschedule her visits to the "outside" accordingly until she's over the trauma of delivery, and her system is back to normal. This will take up to 8 weeks from the birth of the pups.

Do not rub her nose in it. When you catch her tell her no! Pick up the poo with a plastic bag and take it out side where you want her to go. When she does this praise her and give her a treat. she will remeber but most likely She just had pups so she is protective of them. Also have her checked out at the VET could be something else. Whatever you do DO NOT RUB THE NOSE IN IT! Would you do that to your child. Good Luck!

when she pees on the floor do not rub her nose in it tell her in a growl and firm voice tell her she is being a bad dog then at the same time point to the pee on the floor then take her outside and repeat toilet toilet she may need to be reminded again. but do not keep her away from her puppies also if you still have the puppies don't fuss over them you still have to let her know she is still special. Remember they are like kids really. Good luck

This is just a guess, but it might be that out of maternal protective instinct, the dog is marking its territory around the puppies. You might solve the problem by putting the puppies outside. If that seems harsh, maybe set up a dog house outside and put them in there.

Rubbing a dog's nose in its waste product does not help! Take her to the vet, could be a serious infection and that is why she can't hold it.

Yea stop rubbing her nose in it and take her 2 the vet. She may have a urinary tract infection. Don't punish her that way---That way never works and she probably can't help it cause she has an infection!

My dog had puppies too and everytime I walked by/near her and the puppies she would growl as if she were telling me to "get away". I think it's just something that happens after having puppies. ...Althought my dog never had the bathroom problem after having puppies.

Have you kept any of the pups? If so she may feel she is being neglected.
Also you may want to call your vet.. sometimes this type of behavior may lead to more serious probs.
