I met someone the other night at a local bar that we all went to for my cousins birthday and he was from Liverpool England. He is a Royal Air Force Sargent and before i knew any of his story i was walking in and he was outside smoking a cigarette and said "hello beautiful" and it wasn't in a sexual way but an admirable way. I felt a jolt go down my spinal cord. I spoke to him throught the night and found out he lost his wife in Iraq on May 26th 2006 and he was heartbroken. We communicated without words and i never experinenced that before. It was amazing. Saying goodbye was painful for the two of us and i never got his number nor did he mine to stay in touch. I really felt such a spirtual, soulful thing happen between us and i am married with children (lol). I am not saying i am intrigued by him romantically but I am something. I cried for hours yesterday every time i thought of him and almost felt his pain for his wife. What the hell is going on?????

sounds like your very empathic ( psychically tuning in ) to me , you felt his pain and sadness , you cried for his pain and sadness
if i could give you my honest thoughts on this i would say that you were meant to meet him , to help carry a little of this grief for him and shedding tears would help him heal ( like a little angel )
so even though you may never meet again , know that you have done something which i believe is beautiful for him and his wife
sorry but im an old tree hugging hippy that sees things a little stranger than others do lol

I think everybody feels that 'chemistry' at points in thier lives. It's a feeling of being compelled to be near someone. Personally, I'm a bit sceptical about a guy who lost his wife 3 months ago and is already out...........????. From your post here, I don't know if he just wanted someone to talk with or more, but it's not important to your question anyway. Call it chemistry or magnetism or whatever you want. There are people who cross our paths who we feel deeply connected to. Sometimes it will work out and sometimes it won't. If it doesn't, the pain will be as intense as the attraction was.

I genuinely believe that human beings are interconnected, if we allow ourselves the opportunity to experience it and realize it, rather than building literal and figurative walls and ivory towers.
Some would call it "empathy."
The Sanskrit term "namaste", widely used in the Hindu and Buddhist faiths, might also explain it. (I hope that you will look it up or email me if you want to learn its profound nature - I teach it to my students each semester, some accept it and some reject it.)
And as others have suggested - it may be romantic love or sexual attraction. But there other expressions of love as well; just caing about him is, on some level, a form of compassion.

sure. there are cases whilst the moon is very super and outstanding, and whilst the sky is obvious. you're suitable approximately feeling a connection whilst finding on the moon and stars. If purely a much bigger proportion of those billions of folk finding up for the time of historic past had definitely been hoping for peace, enlightenment, and happiness, i think of we would have a extra non violent and wealthy worldwide now.

i have. its rare but it doesnt have to be. the more open you are the more people you can connect with, but they have to let you in. the most common mistake is to assume that it is a sexual attraction, its an energy so powerful that most of us automatically relate it with sex because we are not familiar with it, so dont go leaving your spouse and kids just yet :P
sometimes these experiences happen without you seeking them out as a means for you to have a feeling of what is really going on out there and inside you. it sounds as if that is the case this time. the power of the experience has literally shaken your foundations so know you find yourself going up and down and all around trying to find something familiar. just go with it, let the experience speak to you and dont try to pin it down as something you know like most of us do. you might be identifying with his pain but it is still your pain you are feeling, so explore your life and the things making you unhappy, maybe a change is in order, maybe not.

The Italians have a phrase for this that loosely translated means the thunderbolt. It has happen to me and I ended up marrying the girl. Your in love sugar, it doesn't go away either. Honey, what you experienced is very rare. I don't believe there is a name for it but, this happens when you find someone you knew in your past life. Meaning, your soul and his soul knew each other in a past life.
Because this seems so powerful, I guessing you two might have been lovers.

omg that happened to me. i was in italy and i met this guy for one night, and this was a month ago. i am back home but i can't stop thinking about him. i never felt that way about anyone before. all we did was talk about little things. i am not married with children or anything, so i can't help you there, but to answer your initial question, yes!
