old son has longer hair, curly. He wears boys clothes THAT look like boys clothes and wears BOYS shoes that are clearly not for girls.
Yet some really stupid ppl think he is a girl, even after calling him a he.
Do you get this if you son has long hair...I wonder if Kate Hudson has to deal with this.

I never had that problem with my kiddos, but I would hate it when they would ask, "Is it a boy or girl?"
It's not b/c they are dumb, even with the clothes. Some people just don't pay attention. I made the mystake of calling a young boy a girl, and it was b/c he had long hair. If you want to go ahead and let your son have long hair, you are going to have to put up with people thinking he's a girl....the hair says it all.

Same thing with my 4.5 year old. We let his curly hair stay long, partially to disguise a flat area on his skull, but people always assume he is a girl. And he looks, dresses and certainly acts like a boy all the time.
I guess that people, particularly those without small children of their own, just focus on a single characteristic.

Some people don't think, or really look at a child. My daughter has long hair and dress almost always in pink (her favourite colour) but until she hit around 2 people would occasionally call her a boy?! Once it even happened when she was in a dress!

Sorry, I don't have a son. I have all girls but my 20 month old has short hair. It is not growing fast and people call her a boy even when I say she is a girl or even when she is wearing a dress. I know how you feel.

People are probably confused on what sex your child is.... and you can't really blame them..I could see if it was one or two people, but if you've had countless people calling him a 'her'..then it's because your child looks like a girl...not ALL those people can be mistaken..and anyway..a lot of people dress their kids in crazy clothes..if you want this problem to be fixed...Cut your childs hair...YOU are the reason he is being mistaken for a girl..and if you like his long curly hair..I suggest you get used to people calling him a girl...and you are just going to have to get over it..I think those are your two choices...
Hope that helps..
I agree that you shouldn't have to cut your sons hair..but I also think you are just going to have to get over it...if that is your biggest problem in life..then you have it pretty easy..lol...hope you don't lose too much sleep over it...You know what your child is..that is all that matters..and I don't think people that call him a her are trying to be offensive...just press on...

you would think that with the way guys wear there hair now days that people wouldnt be so rude to ask a question like that. I think it is very cute when kids have there hair like that and it is very popular with teenagers and young adults as well. Next time you hear that ask them why your "daughter" is wearing blue and has facial features of a male. i would get cocky with that and let people know that it is offensive. Good luck and i bet he is adorable

People did that to both of my boys. They both had long curly hair. I would dress them in boy stuff and people always asked how old my girls were. Guess they can't see past the hair.

you know, some people are still stuck in the days where boys had to have short hair. don't worry about it, my nephew had really curly hair and always dressed in boy things, and there would always be someone who say her hair is so lovley. just be happy you have a beautiful son. remember you probably wont see those people ever agian

Mostly people just pay attention to the hair, rather then the clothes. People dont really look at the clothes, they just look at him and just pronary think that is a girl.
