The reason why you may be feeling sleepy in the early afternoon (right after lunch i assume) could be your diet.

The body uses the most amount of energy in the digestion of food.

During lunch, when you take purely carbohydrates, your body will emit acidic juices to help you digest it and use alot of energy to do that. The food will be digested within about 4 hours.

However, if you take purely proteins, your body will emit alkaline juices to help you digest it and use alot of energy to do that. The food will be digested within about 4 hours.

Now, if you take say fried chicken + fries.. which is actually both PROTEIN + CARBO.. your body will emit both kinds of juices and when acid + alkaline, what happens? The juices are neutralized and do not work.

As a result, your body puts in more energy and tries harder and harder to digest the food. At the end of 8-12 hours of hard work, nothing gets done and you are just left with a lump of putrid food in your stomach.

Thus, in order to comabt tat early afternoon sleepy feeling, you can:
- eat only proteins + veg
- eat only carbo + veg
- have lighter meals

Avoid soda, candy, and other junk food. You get the boost (sugar rush) and your body creates more insulin to break down the sugar so your body isn't damaged. The sugar is gone after a while but the insulin lasts much longer, which is the sugar crash. Exercise, proper sleep, and good diet are the big things. I also recommend yerba mate, a strong south american tea. It has caffeine but tends to act much milder than most other caffeinated drinks.

Try exercising, and eating healthy foods. Chances are you're getting too mcuh sleep at night which actually makes you tireder. Try making a retine that your body can adjust to, and you get an energy peak everytime you exercise at that time.

Take a nap for no longer than 20 minutes (not to fall into a too deep sleep) - if possible.

Or stick to food that's really easy to digest, stay without fat for lunch!
