Well first off, is he ready to have the talk? Many kids here about sex on the playground or something and are curious, but don't really know what their asking about. Other kids, even at that age suprisingly, know alot already. So try and gauge where the question is coming from.
Without freaking him out about it (it is a good thing that he came to you and asked this!) ask him why he wants to know and ask him what he thinks it is. Then depending on the level of answer, go from there. If he keeps it simple, then keep it simple and give him a "when a man and a woman want to make a baby and love each other very much" type answer. If that isn't enough or appropriate for his level of understanding, then go to an appropriate level with him, whatever you think he'd be comfortable with hearing and talking about.
The best thing to do is not to freak him out....and NURTURE this communication. It is wonderful that he has come to someone he loves and trusts to ask this question. When he gets older and things get more complicated hopefully he'll feel comfortable in coming to you again!
Hope this helps. If you need any other tips, just give me a PM!! Take care!

Tell him that that's something he is not old enough to do, and that mom and dad will explain that stuff to him when they feel it is right. I think that you should also tell your mom and dad that he asked you and suggest to them that he may be only nine, but that they should explain at least some of the birds and the bees to him. In today's crazy world nothing gets passed the ears of a child especially sex. Sex has become so big in our daily life that nearly everything a child is exposed to has some sort of sexual image or premise behind it and naturally they are curious. I think that your parents should be the ones to tell him unless you are the one who is raising him or mostly takes care of him, in that case break it to him gently and take your time explaining it the best that you can. Good Luck!â¥

lindsy obviously your lil bro trust you, you have the responsibility to talk to your folfs first and respect their wishes, but using the trust thing you might collect your thoughts and talk with your parents about what you might say and what they what you to say. but always in a child freindly way premote questions and answer truthfully never beat around the bush or avoid. if the child is ready to ask a question then he/she is ready for the truth, some question can be deferd though to when they are older. like what does it feel like and such.... way to go big sis your about to get practice on the awkwardness of the subject with children lol

you need to tell him as much of the truth as you can so he'll keep asking you and not his friends. Be honest with him as well as grateful that he is that confident in his big sis. Be honest but don't tell him more than he needs to know....after all he is 9.

Your parents need to tell him. He is too young to know about some things. Parents should explain more as he gets older. It's not up to you to do it.

Start playing his favorite ps2/xbox game for five minutes, then tell him you have to go to the restroom and hand him the controls.

Tell him to go ask your Mom and Dad. If they are not able to help (sorry in advance) tell him he has to wait til he is older.
