Because they are brainwashed morons. That's why they're called "fundamentalists". They think of themselves as "bottom liners" and that's what they want to go by. They cling desperately to the Bible because they're too stupid and lazy to think for themselves. It takes up too much time to figure out why we're all different. So they prefer to say that everyone else who isn't what they are is a problem. It's easier for them to try and force everyone else to go along with them than it is for them to actually LEARN something from someone else.

Christians belive in the Bible and believe it to be God's word. It's fairly black and white. If you are going to disagree with the content of the bIble then a Christian should talk to you about that. So, if you are not following the Bible, then you are outside of God's will for you. Therefore, a fellow Christian, according to the Bible, is supposed to lovingly counsel you on that and bring it to your attention. All Christians and people are imperfect. We know this. Christians are called to be there for each other and to help each other so they don't stumble. If your friend was about to walk off a cliff, would you call them on it and try and stop them or would you not say anything because after all it's his life...I would think you would help your friend and that's what Christians do for each other.
There are some things in Christianity that you simply cannot disagree with. God's word is God's word and you can't pick and choose which things you are going to abide by and which ones you won't. If God says Thou shall not kill...then don't kill. Pretty simple. How are you going to disagree with God's word? He created you and He made the rules. Maybe it would be an idea for you to read more scripture so that you can begin to understand where the "Fundi" Christians are coming from. Not sure if I stuck to the question on this one....sorry.

People are like that because they don't want to hear anything against what they believe. They don't want to hear the fact that there are people out there that believe differently than they do. I f they find someone who does then they want to do everything that they can to change they way that that person thinks, and if they can't then they want do sentence them to eternal damnation in the pits of hell. However the part that makes me laugh about that is they don't seem to realize that be telling people that they are going to burn in hell is a sin, and they are being as they call it " UN- godlike" or " not being a good Christian". That's what make me laugh and it ironic because the people who wish that upon others are usually the ones who end up on trial for doing something like committing murderer because they say "that god told me to do it and I was just fooling his word and is way because I was just being a good Christian and setting an example"

Yes they are right when they accuse you of not knowing about their Christianity. By trying to attain your deeper knowledge of the Christian religion you begin to notice some discrepancies in the bible. By airing these questionable parts of the scriptures you begin shake their beliefs which is more like their spiritual stability and security. You are very lucky that you live in the present world that you live in. If it were a few years back you would be shunned like a leper, if you were very lucky, otherwise burnt alive on a stake or dipped in boiling oil..
Do not stop from broadening your understanding of the bible because of some one. After all you should know what Jesus said about anyone judging another person.
Frankly why should it surprise you when people try to dissuade you from attaining your spiritual fulfillment? I myself am very unpopular with most members of my family because I do not agree with most things which were {according to the scriptures} done by God. What kind of sadist would sacrifice his own beloved son to save a bunch of sinners from their iniquities? If he really did that, I do not see any difference between God and his followers, the Inquisitors. Would you really worship and believe in such a God?

As a human u shud have atleast 1% of information about worldly things. No matter whats your religion,it is important for a human to respect all the religion and gods.It is not even right people accusing u,but there r some proud people who do it.And those who do it,theres no use 4 dem 2 be so much into their religion.Being religious is not that u going everyday 2 ur worship place, spending hours over there, giving charity in a very huge price,no not at all.It is all about faith in god n alot of respect to ur religion. This is wht is really called n meant to be religious

I've gone back and looked at your questions. It's obvious that you do not know much about a lot of things that you talk about.
I especially liked your question "When Fundamentalist Christians are taught maths do they learn that 2 + 2 = 5?"
Hey, I'm all for letting you speak here. It's a free forum. It's just that you ask really dumb questions and it appears you don't read your answers.

I agree and I'm starting to get more than a little angry at these pinheads trying to imply that I'm not a Christian just because my preacher doesn't talk like southern white trash!
I've actually had the buttheads try to tell me Catholics aren't "christian".... It's about time for some "holywars" here to clean out the sheep.

i imagine the large question is how a lot is atheism starting to be in 'pink states'? Atheism is on the verge of turning into politicized interior the country. equivalent to Christianity and admittedly that would want to be an fantastically undesirable aspect. yet convinced in Blue states atheists are honestly a starting to be minority.

Because they prefer to believe their religious leaders who teach the divisive thought that if you don't believe, you are a heathen atheist who has no knowledge of God, you reject God and you must have so much hate in your heart that you cannot possibly know any of his word.
That is the most erroneous crap out there right now. The overwhelming majority of atheists and agnostics have spent many years searching for their truth, reading the bible and other religious texts.
But it hurts Christians to acknowledge that. Then they'd have to admit that their religious leaders are wrong and that God might be wrong and if God is wrong, he's not infallible and if he's fallible, he can't be real. OH NO!

what makes you so sure people who answer your questions are "fundi" christians?
Maybe they just happen to have more education and insight then your 4th grade mindset shows.
I noticed you (oxyguy) have a ton of questions everywhere with the same theme...that of "gays" and "relgion" based questions.
Maybe you should just come out of the closet, then and only then, will you understand the world you live in when fighting your inner demons when trying to coup with life. (and before you spaz off about the use of the word demons in your anti-religious crusade........remeber that word can be used out side of anything biblical. So put that in your crack pipe and smoke it limey.
