Hmmm...you have a different problem than I have.
I have a 50 pound dog. My 8 pound rabbit is in love with him. (they're both boys). When the dog comes into the room - the bunny will hop out and run "laps" around him. For miinutes on end. Last week, it progressed to the rabbit stopping to put his front paws up on the dog and nuzzle around in his fur.
Now the rabbit is trying to hump the dog. The dog is not happy about this, and will bare his teeth, and growl. The rabbit is oblivious to these warnings, and will only jump away when the dog snaps at him. But then will come right back about 30 seconds later.
They co-exist alright, but Sheeesh...

They will either work it out for themselves or not.
The Beagle, part of the hound group, is bread to seek out and attack small game like the rabbit.
They do have a high level of friendliness towards other pets, being that they are both young, you might have a chance.
The pp will grow...and fast! The rabbit depending upon its type is not going to grow much.
I have seen rabbits and cats get along together...so why not?

YOU DON"T, NEWS FLASH: beagles were bred to hunt game. It is ingrained in the deepest part of your dogs brain to hunt and chase, even kill this animal. If you give them an opportunity to adjust through a cage he might get used to the rabbit but never trust him/her, for a second with that rabbit.

Aren't beagles instinctively supposed to hunt rabbits? This may be hard! I would never leave them alone, but I'd hold one or the other and let them get used to each other slowly.... with you there.

the beagle does not want to play with the rabbit, it wants to kill it...
And the rabbit is just defending itself against a natual preditor no matter the age.

Leave 'em alone and they'll work it out. I had a rabbit (miniature), a chinchilla and a hamster and they used to play together in my livingroom. It was sure fun to watch.
