I have this weird allergy to dairy products, its not lactose intolerance, but maybe some form of it. If I drink milk, or consume any dairy products, then the slightest scratch will turn into a huge welt. I am very curious to know if anyone knows what it is, or if they have it. I have alwayz felt I am the only person in the WORLD with it, it would really give me peace of mind to know that I'm not. Thanks. Ray.

I apologize, i made it seem like this only happens when i consume dairy, this happens all the time, but it is dairy related. i have been to a doctor, this has happened since i was born. it is not as extreme as when i was in elementary school (i am now 18) but it does still happen. Sorry for the misleading.

It's a condition dermatographism, it is very common and related to chronice hives. Also, it has nothing to do with dairy or food.

Are you very sure this isn't something that happens on a regular basis? I would speak to a doctor about this. There are many forms of weird allergies, so don't worry your doc should help you. And be happy to join the weird club! When I go outside in the sun my joints start to hurt and I get nauseous! I know what I may have though. I hope your doc helps you!

It's a food allergy. Unfortunately, you need to avoid dairy products and anything containing milk, etc.

Casein allergy is not unknown. I know of people that this happens with and that is what they were told. They have to limit the use of milk and non-diary creamers and other things where casein is used (modified milk protein)

Actually I have the same problem. And it is hard making people understand. Twice I was hospitalized for other problems: hysterectomy and hip replacement and the hospital kitchen sent me lactaid milk.
