I dont leave water out all the time, and he can go 6-7 hours without going in his kennel, but he cant go 20 minutes without peeing in the house. I keep him gated in the kitchen because of that, and I feel bad cause he doesnt have a lot of room to run. He goes every time we go outside, and he wont #2 in the house, but he cant stop peeing. We go out about every hour and a half. He doesnt have any other dogs to learn from. I've seen many answers for this kinda thing on here, but I've tried them or they dont apply to him. I need a new idea.
And, are shock collars mean? (he barks a lot too and I dont want to get evicted)
He's a pit bull/pyrenese mix

My sympathies--my 4 month old is still having problems with housetraining too (I'm about to buy a carpet cleaner). Is he neutered? If he is marking, then neutering might help. Shock collars are mean. Here are some things to try if you haven't already:
(1) Always lead pup out the same door for potty breaks.
(2) Every time he pees outside, praise him, give him a word to attach to the behavior (I use potty), and give him a delicious treat.
(3) If you catch him in the act indoors, tell him "no," calmly and put him outside. Don't let him see you clean up the mess.
(4) Use an enzymatic product such as Nature's Miracle to remove the urine stain and scent, and cover the area until it dries so that he cannot go up and sniff it. Always clean up completely, or it will smell like a bathroom to him.
(5) Play with him in every room of the house. You might even want to try spending nights sleeping in every room of the house with him so that he understands that all the rooms are "home" not bathroom.

For the barking, what is working for me is to say no calmly and distract her every time she gets started with a toy or a chew. If she barks at the mailman or a neighbor, I introduce them and have them give her treats and she stops. This keeps her from the habit of barking for barking's sake or protecting the house unnecesarily. Good luck!

for the peeing issue, it appears that you've tried about everything I have. I'd almost consider a medical issue to be the culprit (UTI or bladder infections can cause very frequent urination - and completely not his fault) especially for a male. Talk to your vet if you think that might be it.

Here's a thought, though. If he can be very clear about when he has to pee, you'll be able to take him out. Many dogs just can't get the message across to their owner. My shepherd just couldn't figure out how to tell me. He'd bring me toys, or stare me down. But he did that all the time. So, I taught him to ring a bell! Seriously! Go to the craft store or the dollar store and get a little brass bell (not a jingle bell) and hang it from the doorknob. If you teach him that if he wants to go out (to play, especially), he has to touch the bell first. If you think he has to go, and are running for the door, don't bother with the bell, but if you have the extra minute, make him do it. That way, when he has to go, if it's just a communication problem, he'll be able to make it well-known to you! Some Pits and Py's can be slow learners, but be consistant with him (always use the same command, "touch") and he should catch on.

As far as the shock collars, they're great for off leash training (my babe's trained on it, and it's awesome) but lousy for barking. Better bet, get the citronella spray collar. Much more humane, and they usually work better. MultiVet makes a nice one.
