Christians have been talking about the rapture of the church since Jesus walked the earth. So, for arguements sake, let's pretend that the Bible is correct in everything it says. If you turned on the TV and found out that all the Christians had disappeared, how would this change your beliefs or would it? If you picked up the Bible once everyone was gone and realized you had seven years filled with a battle between heaven and hell and you would have to take a stand for either God or the Anti-Christ, what would you do? Serious answers only! No smart remarks about celebrating; I can read your mind.

I'm not going to debate pre-trib, post-tribulation ideas. That's a whole different discussion. I'm also not going to debate how many "Christians" would be raptured.. again, another conversation. So, if it happens the way many Christians think it will, do you stick with your path or change. I applaud the honesty on both parts; those who change and those who would stick with their path. I'm just curious to what people would do if everyone disappeared. Christians feel free to weigh in too, what if you were "left behind."

Given enough credible evidence, even I could become a Bible-waving fundamentalist.
One thing that atheists like myself pride themselves on is the ability to accept and digest evidence, even if it clashes with deeply held beliefs.

I would still have to evaluate both sides before making a decision. For all I know, the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he was god and all the Christians disappeared to go to hell. I don't want eternal suffering so I would probably stay neutral and watch both sides from a distance to see who seemed more righteous. I'm not going to just assume that all the Christians went up to heaven. Remember, the devil (if he was real) is the master of deception. The best way to stay true is to think for yourself and not let others dictate your beliefs with their own crazy beliefs.

i'm an existentialist, I base my beliefs on reason and adventure and that i detect myself siding with atheists....pretty purely by christians at right here comprehend no longer something about topics which they criticize and some are truly finished nutbags. There are regardless of the very undeniable actuality that some christians on R&S that i comprehend and they comprehend who they're yet once you're taking excitement in stupid arguements that were debunked for a lengthy time period, proper, that extremely is a pup peeve. I also do compared to tolerate atheists who've under no circumstances experienced christianity and chooses to criticize it in preserving with what they pay interest or study in books

Let's see what we have here. One let's pretend, two ifs and then a choice between the Ultimate in Christian style goodness against the absolute evil in Christian dogma; and I must answer seriously. Oh my gosh and your reading minds as well. This is interesting, how do I proceed with a question that really isn't a question at all and do so seriously as requested, well actually demanded. Well I like making people happy and you must be a person so what I would do is give up my hell bent lifestyle and fight for God in whatever that entailed for the seven years then to please you in this scenario further I would seriously and cheerfully roast in hell for eternity while you watched from heaven telling me I told you so. I hope this helps, it was fun for me too!

Did God "rapture" Noah and his family away when the flood hit? No, he didn't. Noah endured his "tribulation". And what did Christ tell us concerning the end? He told us "As in the days of Noah were, so shall it be in the end".Christ also told us "he who endures til the end, the same shall be saved". Jesus also said "And they shall deliver you up to be afflicted for my name's sake," -- in the endtime events. Jesus didn't say "And ye shall be zapped off the face of the planet during your tribulation". The whole "rapture" theory started in the late 1800s. Nothing is going to be "secret" about Christ's return. No "secret" rapture of Christians. Did David flee in the face of Goliath like a coward? No, he didn't. Are Christians supposed to "flee" in the face of the antichrist in some little secret "rapture"? No, they're not. This isn't biblical. He told us, "he who endures 'TIL THE END".The "rapture" is a lie that started in the late 1800s, in europe

Can you give some more details about this battle between heaven and hell and what thats supposed to be all about? Is it assumed this "battle" uses conventional weapons? swords? nunchuka?
I would probably let them pitch it to me like a business meeting and choose heaven/hell based on which looks like a better deal.
Make me an offer! "That was a very nice presentation Jesus, sorry that god couldn't make it himself...we've got one more interview and then we'll inform you of our decision within the next few days...yes, thank you."
If all the annoying christians are in heaven, i'd probably me more inclined to fight with the anti-christ. But if "god" is all-powerful, it shouldn't be much of a "battle" should it? more like a slaughter? yeah, slaughter! that sounds like the christain god alright.

First would it change your beliefs if some people from all religions and some Athiests were taken in the rapture but you were not?
It shouldn't, but I believe something like this will happen (not sure about Athiests though).
However If that happened I would probably convert real quick, however I do not believe it will happen like that.
Even if it happens like I believe it will happen and I am still here, I will still keep my beliefs. However I will pray a lot more; only taking breaks to eat.

It depends on how you define Christian..which means Chris-like.....I think what would surprise you and many others is that you and many other so-called Christians would still be here...and not taken in the rapture......this is something many Christians are unwilling to think about its an uncomfortable thought.....too many think they are going to be caught in the rapture but if we search for the true meaning of Christian........then very few of us are going to get to be in the rapture.

I don't think anyone would notice, since not all Christians would be taken, but only those who were free of sin (as defined in the bible). This would constitute only the smallest fraction of the population.... so perhaps it has already happened and you just don't know it yet.
