Good question :)
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
In the process of coming out of atheism, I read the scriptures of all of the major religions, and spent endless hours studying, asking questions, learning, reading the writings from the various religions, talking to teachers, gurus, missionaries etc from various religions... this has given me a decent exposure to the major religions in the world.
So if you have any specific questions and would like to discuss any of these religions, please feel free to email me.
Cordially,
John

there is only one god. hundreds of years ago someone looked inside themselves and at the world around them and realized that a source exists, an energy which gives life to everything that is created. this person wanted to share this message to others, so they could be as happy as he was. so he started a religion. this didnt happen once but many times with different people, they all realized there was a source, they all started a different religion about it, each a little bit different depending on the persons upbrigning and cultural surroundings but with the same basic message. then hundreds of years passed and the originator of the religion was no more. then people started assuming that "their god" was "the god" not realizing that in fact all these different religions are looking at the same thing, the one source.
religion and spirituality are two different things. a religion is a means to connect with god, so it doesnt matter if you prefer to do it through hinduism, buddhism, christianity or none at all, as long as it works for you, as long as it makes you feel connected and loving to all around you.
hope this helps.

Just because you were"brought up christian" do'nt make you of The Christian Faith... Those of The Christian Faith have a personal relationship with God and the assurance of their Salvation... That dose not come from just being born into it, or haveing some man dunk,or sprinkle, you.
just because you have always done what you have been told is"christian" do'nt mean you have done What God is waiting for you to do.
If you have not, personaly, come to God in The Way He proscribes.....not the way a "church"or"religion" says... but The Way God says...Then neither you or any one else, for that matter, can legitametly claim to be of The Christian Faith.
One of The Christian Faith knows he is of The Faith... and there is no doubt about it. Or about God.
I accept email questions concerning the Christian Faith. Or, you can check me out at:

There is no right or wrong God. In addition, if you go through the Bible you will find that God speaks to the "leaders of the 7 religions"(Book of Revelations). What is important is that we believe in a highter power, greater than ourselves--without that belief mankind could not exist. Each religion does teach their religion in a different way, but in essence I think that Buddha is God, Allah is God, etc.etc.

Because, everything God said that would come to pass, has come, and will come. He is the truth and when you really accept Him, you will see Him become real in your life. Other religions: their gods are still in the grave, buried in the ground..but Jesus Christ has risen like He said, sitting on the right hand of God, the Father being our advocate and protector. It may not seem like a logical answer, but if you read the bible, and then look at the world and all of the prophesis combined and what God promised to us, all of the bad things he said would happen and all of the good things too, it has all come to pass......all of it.

For those who believe in more than just this life, we all seek a light of peace and happiness. There are those who believe there is only I path to that, but there are many more who believe it is the seeking, the faith, and what is in your heart, not the particular religion that matters. I've never been able to understand how any one can believe in a Christian god that is supposed to be all knowing, powerful, and loving, but has to follow what men set down in a single book.
I'm Wiccan by choice, believe in both god and goddess, and that we are allowed to walk the paths we choose. I believe we can be helped if asked, but others wise it is up to us to make our own choices. Children have to learn to find their own way, sometimes with guidance, but still, in order to become all they can be, they have to find their own way.
My advise, if your trying to find a path for yourself, would be to read about many different religions, and then make you own decision.
You're not stuck to any one path, sometimes as people get older they feel pulled in other directions, there is nothing wrong with that. You should always follow your heart.

I believe that you can only get this answer through studying religion and praying about it. I belong to an entire different denomination of what I was brought up in. I had to pray about what was the truth. I got my answer from Heavenly Father about what the truth is. I truly believe that we can all get answers from God thru the Holy Ghost, if we pray with an intent heart and contrite spirit.

It's alright to question about God, I've done it many times, and I end up with a stronger faith than ever! Find someone that you know really knows God and ask them these questions.
When I was younger I tried all kinds of religions, I even got ahold of the satanic bible, and praise the Lord He saved me from that mess! I was searching, and when I finally searched with my whole heart, Christianity was the answer.
I questioned alot, and this is how I learned about Jesus and His truth. I encourage you to find someone that you trust who knows God, to ask these questions. I knew someone way older and wiser and they would just grin as I asked the same questions. When you seek God with your whole heart, you will be found by Him.

Religions are man made and they all want a different style, procedure and even God.
Christianity is Based on Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the ole rugged cross for the sins of all people who will believe in Him. It is the only religion based on a man who was resurrected. All the others are dead and their religion worships are also dead.

i'm agnostic, no longer atheist (although I definitely tend in that course), and that i think of this variety with the aid of fact I definitely have a stressful time believing that a "God" clever sufficient to create all this could concurrently be inattentive sufficient to have made a variety of of "blunders". this is been shown (in numerous experiments in the Fifties) that the straight forward development blocks for existence could nicely be actual randomly created with the aid of filling a pitcher jar with the gases recent on a youthful earth and stimulating them many cases with electric powered arcs, (as lightning could have finished). this is in basic terms a chain of unguided random chemical and biochemical activities from there to right here. this could clarify why male mammals have nipples. To have self assurance "God" designed adult adult males to have nipples is to have self assurance God is improper in some way...
