When people write foolish questions that attack our faith and you know that the Bible identifies them as "fools", why even bother responding? I pose that we all unite and simply respond, "I'll pray for you." You get the 2 points, and they won't get the satisfaction of thinking that they got under your skin. They really don't realize that we have been where they are, and they do really need our prayers.

Yes! Really Pray for Those. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you discernment as to those who ask legitimate questions. Stand up for your faith and repond in kind.

I thank all the Christians for the support. I think God is pleased. Hey He gave us another reason to pray, and I pray His blessings on each of you who desire to share the Love of Christ and I pray for those who do not believe as we do, come to the saving knowlege of Christ.

Peace and Love always.

They take that as an insult. We think of being prayed for as a good thing. They think of it as total arrogance on our part.

I try to skip the foolish ones.

It's a great idea in theory, and I appreciate the heart it comes from, but it might actually do more harm than good.

I think EyeLovesJesus does a great job of answering the kind of questions you're talking about. She's very loving in her responses and I think she emulates what Jesus would do. But you kind of get the feeling that that's just who she is. Her answers reflect her personality as well as her beliefs. I don't know that I could say exactly the same thing and get the same reaction she gets. It would be kinda fake coming from me, because I don't talk that way.

Still, I think we all need to find our own style of speaking the truth in love, and offering soft answers that turn away wrath.

You speak of having been where they are. When you think back, are the ones who had the greatest influence on you the ones who told you you were wrong, or the ones who made you see the Love in the Message?

A small whispered prayer from the heart of faith can do much. I have gave that small whispered prayer at times for the Lord to open their hearts and minds to Him. Prayers are not a wish come true. Prayer is asking a certain thing from the Lord. Prayers even when praying for an unbeliever comes true. You can be many miles from the person but prayer is heard by the Father and He listens. Pray continually is what Paul said.

This beautiful show of pure, unfiltered arrogance is what christianity has come to stand for these days. Everyone who disagrees with you is a fool? I dont believe in god and I dont care if you do or not. But I dont think youre a fool because you disagree. So tune down the arrogance and self-righteousness there, and maybe less people will hate christianity.

By the way, using "ill pray for you" as a way to dodge questions that your faith cant answer is pathetic. And telling others to do it is even more pathetic.

peace

Defending your faith is important... to a point. The Bible teaches it is a waste of time to argue with a fool. Jesus said that if someone refuses to hear your message, you are to shake the dust off your shoes and move on.

After making an attempt or two to reason with someone, let them go and pray. Whether you tell them you will or not. Getting angry only diminishes your testimony.

How does that St. Francis of Assisi quote go? Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.

When I do this on message boards I receive all kinds of flack!
I believe that when you tell someone that you will pray for them that person who disagrees with your faith, will get very angry! The reason being is that they want nothing to do with Christians, prayer, the Bible or God!

You know it takes a true person to come out and talk about god our father like you have. Many people just want to be cool but you must love God alot and you seem to be real close with him in your heart. I need to be doing better myself and I think you may have helped. I agree that we should all stand together and praise God with love and spirit with each others praises.
I ask everyone who see this please pray for me

That's a great suggestion.
I guess I like to "defend the faith" alot, I'm a teacher, so I guess I always like to explain! I do know the Scriptures say to not get into foolish arguments about the faith, as it only ruins those who listen. I try to not argue, you do have a good point, thanks for the reminder. I always remember I was once where they are, and praise the Lord I'm not any more! Yeah!

relies upon on the context. If something purely befell to me or I instructed them i'm dealing with a tough time, and their reaction is "i will pray for you", I frequently thank them. they're showing their problem, and it ought to correctly be favored. yet in the experience that they are affirming it because, say, I instructed them that i'm an atheist, or because I instructed them that I play D&D, then it is purely condescending and that i will probable purely roll my eyes.

What's the point in praying for people? I thought god wasn't allowed to interfere in our free will? Praying for people is like telling god to change their minds and that eliminates the whole free will concept, doesn't it? But then again, you christians love living in your shells and never question anything so... please waste your time and pray for me. I'll take my satisfaction knowing that you're on your knees while thinking of me. haha.
