I guess it's in the heart of the one who is doing it? My husband is a Preacher and he does some every now and then for the little children, and there isn't anything evil about what he does. I guess it depends on what you want to accomplish with it.

What is a wizard?. You might like to look up the word in the dictionary to catch all the meanings. How does someone become a wizard in science, math or economics? Do some people seem so smart that you would wonder how a human being could be able to do all the apparently deep thinking? Science is full of a lot of deception.

To say that Albert Einstein's mathematical calculations are humbling to me would be an understatement. I find them stupefying! How much good has come of the atomic bomb up to now? Please recall Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

What is the source of wizardry? Science is considered to be an outgrowth of alchemy, a form of alleged magic.

You may wish to click onto my name and then onto my question about the possible merits of keeping a roster of world geniuses.

I do not believe that I have any powers of wizardry; therefore I cannot tell you if it works, how it works or if it even exists for sure. I have ordinary intelligence.

Well when you say magic, I think of spells and what not. I dont think that magic that magicians practice is. LIke at chidrens birthday parties or david copperfield. They are more illusion and we call it magic because we dont know the secrets.

I think the other kind of magic is spiritual. There is the good kind and bad kind. Some people might call miracles magic while christians find it holy. The other kind of magic that is used to hurt people or meditate on bad things might be the work of the devil. In Christianity anything not pertaitning to God and worshipping anything else is.

If you ask someone who practices Wicca the right way they say it is worshipping and respecting nature.

It all depends on who you ask and your own beliefs.

Good question!

There is no such thing as magic, so the answer would be "no".

However, even if you consider the "concept" of magic, I do not see it as something "created by the devil". In fact, almost all stories of magic are rooted in the archetypal struggles between good and evil, and most have morals along the lines of "don't expect to get something for nothing" or "if you are greedy and try to do others harm, you will end up doing yourself the most harm". If you accept stories of magic as what they are (fiction), it is generally a positive concept.

if by magic you mean some people like Houdini, then no magic is not of the devil. It's all an illusion, a trick of the eye. I know some card tricks. They are simple to do. Some of slight of hand. Some are based on math that I don't understand but they are pretty clever and never cease to amaze.

If you mean magic shows...that's just creating an illusion. There's nothing evil about it. It's a form of entertainment.

If you mean real magic, then I guess one would have to believe it really exists before they could comment. I for one do not believe man has the power of magic or miracles. Like the Loch Ness Monster or Big Foot..it has never really been proved as real.

Magic is the work of the devil. Spells that can turn sticks into snakes, water into blood and kill thousands of children at once must be evil.

Oh wait, those are all things God did in the old testament. But they're called Miracles instead of Magic, I guess. Same thing in my book.

So no, I don't think magic (if it exists) is the work of the devil. And I don't think reading Harry Potter will turn kids into satanists.

Are hurricanes and tsunamis the work of God?

There's a difference between slight of hand and magic. Slight of hand is what most magical shows are about. The magician has learned to distract your eyes from what he is doing, or he may use special props. Any magic that uses an outside power would be from the devil.

Absolutely not. Magick (with a 'k' to denote a difference from the type of magic that is used on stage -- illusionary magic) is just like prayer -- using symbols and prayer to ask and manifest what you need in life. Magick draws on the power of the natural world (which is of God because it was created by God) to help you get what you need and is meant to be used only for the good of all and to harm nobody. Magick = prayer.

A magician is an actor playing the part of a supernatural being.
A magician is an entertainer, just like a singer or a dancer.
You might as we say that the actors that played roles in the Harry Potter movies were evil....ha..not. There is no difference.
It's all acting.
