Why is it that Americans don't like hot tea? I love tea. I don't mean iced tea--I personally don't like most iced teas, but I've never had homemade iced tea. But that's not the point. Hot tea is great. I mean, if you don't like how it tastes, that's okay, I guess, but some people hate it--like it was football (sorry, I mean soccer). But that's another question entirely.

I live in Florida, by the way. And also, who the hell drinks tea plain anyway!?! That's crazy. So stupid.... Anyway, there you are. Plain tea... ridiculous. What, do you drink plain coffee? No, it's gross. So's plain tea. I take a lot of sugar in both.

Ridiculous.

I love hot tea, plain hot tea. In my opinion (which is just that, an opinion) if tea is made well enough it shouldn't need sugar. But I say you should drink what beverage you want, how you want it.

I dont know I guess Americans are still bitter over the tea tax back in the 1700s and that Boston tea party thing but Im sure there are some Americans who drink hot tea but we will always be a nation of coffee and iced tea drinkers lol

Whoa...why are you making such a blanket statement? I am from New Jersey and I like drinking hot tea and cold tea. Am I an American? Oh yes. I'm sure if you talk to someone at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts or your local coffee shop, you'll find out that a lot of people drink hot tea.

I like hot tea. So don't blame me. But I like iced tea [certain people insist on calling it "ice tea"], also.

I really like coffee, though. Americans like coffee over tea because it has a bigger jolt of the old caffeine and they are always on the go about everything. And there are so many places where it is ready-made to go. It's a cultural thing, I guess.

But a lot of Americans do indeed like tea, hot or not.

Wow, why do you think Americans don't like hot Tea? I was raised on it and I am from the south, my whole family and many friends drink Hot tea. Also, it is lovely "plain" as you call it, just as coffee is scrumptious Black.

I like it. But not plain, I like it with lots of sugar or honey. I also like mint green tea it is my favorite. :]] I don't really care for the iced tea thing either, it has a bad aftertaste. But I don't think we americans drink much tea becuase we have been raised on sodas. And tea plain doesn't really taste that great by itself. :)

Why is that so stereotypical? I LOVE hot tea and know lots of people who do. I prefer hot tea over coffee any day.
